Available at Leica Store Lisse: Leica MP “Historica”, edition number 10.

Made in celebration of the 45th anniversary of the Leica Historica association (1975–2020), this special edition brings together Leica’s long tradition of mechanical craftsmanship with the clean design of the modern MP. The camera is finished in silver chrome with a blue leather covering and engraved top plate marking the anniversary.

Each of the 45 sets produced includes a matching silver chrome APO-Summicron-M 50mm f/2 ASPH, styled after the early Summicron lenses of the 1950s. The pairing feels classic yet contemporary which is unmistakably Leica.

This example, number 10, is in beautiful condition and comes complete with its boxes, papers, and accessories. A very limited and thoughtful edition that perfectly captures the balance between heritage and precision that defines the Leica M system.

Today an SL3 Reporter was picked up by dr. Matthias and Elka. They provide humanitarian aid through the Menschen Freude charity and will be using the SL3 during their work. It's amazing to hear photographers stories and what they will use their Leica for, especially when it will be put to use for a good cause!

This Hasselblad set is dedicated to the adventurer. With its distinct color, it blends in with the Swedish landscapes where Hasselblad originates, merging the adventurous spirit with the artistic spirit.

The set features everything you need to get out into the world and take photographs. The X2D is an incredible camera that excels in capturing details with its 100 megapixels, yet stays nimble in doing so with its powerful IBIS, allowing you to keep exploring without the need of a tripod.

The XCD 2,5/55V offers a versatile field of view with incredible image quality, and a nice shallow depth of field of f/2.5 on medium format.

Available at Leica Store Lisse: Leica M9 Titanium “Walter de’ Silva” Edition, number 355/500.

Designed by Walter de’ Silva, known for his work in automotive design, this special edition turns the M9 into something truly unique. Every visible metal part of both the camera and the matching Summilux-M 35 mm f/1.4 ASPH is milled from solid titanium, giving it a finish and feel unlike any other Leica.

The set redefines what a digital M can look and feel like; a perfect balance between design and precision. This example is in beautiful mint condition, complete with all boxes, papers, and accessories. The CCD has been upgraded to the corrosion-free ID 15 version, and it’s seen only 3xx clicks since new.

A stunning example of one of Leica’s boldest design collaborations.

In our last post we shared our Huge Fake Leica sculpture proudly standing in our store. But we have more of this sculpture on display!

It was produced in different sizes: three large editions in stainless steel at 110kg each, and twelve medium editions at 40kg each. The medium edition was made in three color variations: stainless steel, gold plated and black.

In all scales they are monuments to the powerful history of the Leica rangefinders. Want to experience them yourselves? Come by the store and admire the details!

On display at Leica Store Lisse “Fake Leica” by Yibai Liao.

Standing in the store is our huge “Fake Leica” sculpture, created in collaboration with Chinese artist Yibai Liao. The project brings together different generations of Leica M cameras into a single object, where details from across the system intentionally collide.

At first glance it feels familiar, but the closer you look, the stranger it becomes. An advance lever sits next to a digital screen inspired by the M9. Proportions are slightly off, controls do not fully belong together, and the camera exists somewhere between several eras of Leica design.

The idea comes from the world of bootleg luxury goods, where copied products often resemble the original without ever being completely accurate. Here, that same visual language is used deliberately. Rather than diminishing the camera, it ends up highlighting just how recognisable the Leica M has become over decades of production.

A playful piece, and a surprisingly thoughtful one once you spend time with it.

Nearly a year ago we had the launch and exhibition of the wonderful collaboration between Sandro Miller & John Malkovich; the ‘Malkovich, Then Came John’ special edition book. Last Tuesday we had the pleasure of presenting this wonderful project we produced at the exquisite Annabel’s club Annabel's in London, UK.

Sandro and John were kind enough to present their project, with the images coming to life with the book on display for the guests to flip through. The book is signed by both artists, comes with a print, and the book has a never seen before integrated screen into the cover. For availability feel free to send us a message!

The series seeks to recreate iconic and historic imagery, this time with John Malkovich portraying all those depicted in these recognizable photographs.Through great set design, accurate clothing, appropriate technology and the great eye of Sandro these pictures truly look like the original. The final ingredient that John Malkovich adds with his immaculate acting skills where he assumes the character of this very diverse group of people is astounding.

Marilyn Monroe, Pablo Picasso and Muhammad Ali are just some of the names Sandro, John and their team have depicted here. Diane Arbus, Bert Stern, Yousuf Karsh, Carl Fischer, Andy Warhol and Irving Penn are some of the original creators of these iconic works.

Our gratitude to Annabel’s for having us!

Available at Leica Store Lisse: Leica APO Summicron-m 50mm f2 pre production.

This APO Summicron is more unique than a first look might reveal. Where on the standard 50mm APO lens it is usually empty space, written on the lens hood of this particular lens you will find its serial number. Signifying that it is among around only 100 copies manufactured before the official release of the Leica APO Summicron-M 50mm.

The eventual version of the lens that would hit the market has slightly different aperture indents and the lens hood engraving with serial number was moved. This lens is the 11th unit out of these 100 APO 50 lenses.

New works to see at Leica Store Lisse!

On display now are incredible works by the late Dutch surrealist artist, photographer, painter, artisanal framemaker, master printer and above all friend, Teun Hocks.

Teun Hocks is where photography and painting meet. He stars the main character in his surrealistic works, but the story is never about him. With humor he playfully details ordinary scenes with a bizarre twist.

Recently we acquired a new work of his, a huge homemade print and frame, that is now proudly on display with other works we already had in our collection.

Along with photos of the exhibition is an image of our studio visit from a long time ago, where his work, prints and frames were made.

Come and admire them in person!
