While faulty religious reasoning can be used by any faith, does that make one faith more guilty than any other of division? The interpretation of Dogma left open to use by political propaganda seems to be most at fault in our troubled world, much more so than those individuals that truly live their own interpretation of the spiritual meaning of any holy scripture.
I do not care what background you come from...
If both sides live a spiritual message of "Love" there is common ground for compassionate communication. This is the core difference in the meanings of spiritual and religious.
Love - Respect - Free Will
I hold these in high regards...
My personal core spiritual beliefs maybe Creativity - Community - Consciousness
But if you truly think about it how far are those beliefs separated from those I just stated? They are merely another perspective, interpretation or even more simplified - phrasing; that incorporate a similar meaning.
Universal principles run on Love and the respect of Free Will. Seems to me Love and Free Will, are designed to keep each other in balance. Free Will acting from a position of Love, keeps an individual from overindulgence in Nihilism and Hedonism. Love, acknowledging and respecting others Free Will, helps to keep us from imprisoning others with our own good intentions for them.
I don't speak on it nearly as much as I probably should... Mostly because life has taught me to be timid. Has taught me to hide my true nature as it has so many others...
I co-founded Interfaith Spiritual Sanctuary, with friends specifically for these types of reasons. This "Sanctuary" is structured as more of a community center on purpose. A common ground for communication and co-operation. A place to have fun together. It's not about dogma, but about each of us living from the core of our spiritual truths in this world and that being ok. Truly seeing each other for the beautiful unique souls that we are. Loving, accepting, respecting, others Free Will to interpretation on personal philosophical life topics. Ie- spirituality.

We may not tell you your interpretation of Spiritual presence is the only one in the world, but we will accept it as "Truth" for you, on your path. The one you alone tread, with however it is that you personally interpret and incorporate Divine presence and Love in your life.
