In 2003, shortly after the birth of my daughter, I became infatuated with the idea of capturing every moment of her childhood. Then after carrying a camera around my neck for over a year one of my best friends asked me to shoot his wedding. With nothing but a friendship to lose I said yes."

I’ve never been much of a landscape photographer but beauty is beauty and I’m blessed to have this view at our cottage so I wanted to share.

Not my typical post but definitely the most meaningful photo I’ve ever taken. Little did I know when I took it that it would become the image to encourage men over 40 to get a simple blood test so they had a fighting chance against prostate cancer. My dad lost his battle 5 months ago and I don’t want anyone to feel this pain that my family, friends and I are going through. Sending love and healthy wishes to all of you. Mike

Two years ago approached me and wanted to do a photoshoot. New to the bodybuilding community and clearly eager to see what he was capable of Mark started pushing he body and mind to extremes I’m sure he didn’t know were possibly at the time. So excited to have watched the journey over these few years and can’t wait to see what the next few years bring as a result of all of your hard work and hustle. Congratulations to for being a master coach and giving Mark the guidance he needed.

I've tried to write this numerous times but just can't find the words. How do I tell all of my family and friends the most painful moment in my life has just happened? That not only have I lost my hero but my mom lost her best friend, my kids lost their poppa or as Lily would say her Sally and that anyone who knew dad lost a great man. Yesterday Friday August the 13th my dad Douglas Anderson took his last breath on this earth. With my mother Jean, , , & myself by his side dad told us to be brave, that he loved us and thanked us for the beautiful life we gave him, that he'd always be with us he closed his eyes for the final time and peacefully took his last breath. As painful as it is I can't think of a more beautiful and peaceful goodbye. What started as prostate cancer and spread throughout his bones dad showed us all what dignity and strength looked like in our gravest of times. Dad asked that in lieu of flowers it would bring a smile to his face as he looked over us to have donations made to something special to him, the Ride for Dad Ottawa. A charity that I've been blessed to be a part of for many years and that mom and dad have donated to for many more. So I've left the link below in hopes that we can make my dads last wish come true. Like he said to me, "I may have lost this battle but I hope you guys find a way so others don't." Right till the end my dad was doing what he did best and that was taking care of everyone.
