📸What a “professional” looks like.

When I worked as an Executive Recruiter, I was so conservative in my appearance.

📌I wore Banana Republic blouses, khakis, and loafers.
📌I straightened my hair.
📌I never used cuss words.
📌I kept my makeup minimal.
📌I hid my tattoos

And I never… I mean NEVER spoke out of turn.

Why is that?

😰I was SO AFRAID that being unique would cause me to stick out like a sore thumb.
🦚I feared that stepping outside of the box would cause me to be ostracized in my industry.
🙅🏽‍♀️I wanted desperately to fit into a male dominated field and didn’t want to be seen as overly feminine.
💪🏽I didn’t have the courage to be myself because of limiting beliefs around what a professional SHOULD look like.

And so I was super… vanilla.

When I started my own business, I had the same blocks around having my own style.

But…

Blending in got old and boring, FAST.

As I developed more as a creative and a business owner, I stopped having time to prioritize fitting into a predetermined mold.

I became more confident in my abilities and myself enough to step into who I really am as a person, a woman, a biz owner. and an artist.

And realized something important…

Life is TOO SHORT to pretend you’re something you’re not.

So next time you’re asking the question, “Am I too much?”

Just KNOW that there are millions of women WAITING to see the real you and be inspired by that woman.

🎤Do you have the confidence to SHOW UP?

LACK OF CONFIDENCE is one thing that I see a lot of in my work as a Personal Brand Photographer working with women entrepreneurs.

🏋🏽‍♀️I often hear about how a woman feels she needs to lose weight before having a photoshoot.

👩🏽‍🏫She thinks she needs to “get her s**t together”

😮‍💨She doesn’t feel comfortable on camera

🙅🏽‍♀️No one in her inner circle believes in her, and thinks that she should “just get a real job.”

These insecurities all become factors in women that limit and BLOCK their success.

Because they’re lacking confidence.

And if you’re lacking confidence, you are 1000% not showing up fully to grow your business to its full potential.

How do you gain confidence?

START SOMEWHERE.

Put those videos out, do that brand shoot, share those ideas, make those connections.

It will be tough at first and you WILL FAIL at times.

But the best way to gain confidence is to BUILD it by trying, failing, then figuring it out, and turning your insecurities into successes.

You may be putting the time into your social media presence but still seeing no return.

It’s left you feeling hopeless and as though you’ll never get anywhere with your business.

But I’m here to tell you that’s not true anymore.

Here are 6 ways to GET VISIBILITY on Instagram:

🗣Show up consistently; SHOW THE F UP. Show your face, stick to discussing the topics that fall under your brand pillars, and do it on a regular basis

#️⃣Hashtag Strategy; have a hashtag bank that’s relevant to all of your brand pillars that you reuse and add in a few extras that are relevant to each specific post, keeping each one targeted to what you do, rather than the ones that have the most posts associated with them

📝Storytelling; shine through your story, this is what makes you UNIQUE and relatable, don’t be afraid to get personal as this will be what attracts others to you

📲Optimize your bio; stop plugging extra verbiage into your bio, and instead make use of that valuable real estate that will give you visibility in search

👩🏽‍🏫EDUCATE!!! show your value and expertise, this will help you help others and when you help others, you nurture them until they’re ready to buy from you

💸Sell your offer; don’t just stick to stories and free tips, but also talk about your offer and do it regularly so that people are constantly aware and educated of the service you provide

One of the top traits of successful entrepreneurs being a VISIONARY and seeing the future in a way that no one else can

Being a visionary can show up as…

💡Having tons of ideas that others cannot wrap their minds around
🏓Having A LOT of hobbies
📊Starting multiple businesses that may not all succeed
😵‍💫A perception that you are “out there” or “all over the place”
🥊Having a number of controversial opinions
🤺Constantly challenging traditional ways and conventionalism

While many would perceive these as negative qualities…

I’m here to tell you to HOLD ON and stick to your guns.

In order to turn your visionary quality into success though, you need INNOVATION.

Showing up on the level you need to, to drive attention to your brand is tough for anyone!

But if you’re an introvert, then personal branding can feel that much more challenging.

😌You may be a super private person.
🥵Have a difficult time sharing details about your life and your story.
