I'm starting off my Monday by celebrating my 15th ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ review for Lorna Stell Photo! This one was for a micro-wedding in Salem, MA at The Ledger.
Even though I live down the street, this was my first time there, and I have to say—Their micro event space? Gorgeous!! So modern and upscale. Their food? Phenomenal!! I'm already planning my next visit back. Their team? So kind and helpful and a dream to work with!
This couple was super sweet and down to earth, and I loved that they were feeling adventurous and ready to try lots of cool nooks and crannies in the downtown area for their portraits together. Let me know which one is your favorite! 🥰 Even though the groom said he usually hated having his photo taken, I loved that he opened up to the process and ended up being the one to share this glowing review. There is hope for you too, if you also hate being photographed! 😉
I would totally recommend Ledger Restaurant for your next event, and if you want it captured in photos, this couple recommends me, so let's chat! 😉
"My wife and I had the pleasure of working with Lorna Stell as our wedding photographer, and I can confidently say that she deserves a solid 5-star review. Lorna's talent for capturing candid moments is truly exceptional. She has an innate ability to seize those precious, unscripted moments that make wedding memories so special.
What sets Lorna apart is not just her skill behind the camera but also her wonderful personality. She made us feel incredibly at ease throughout the day, and her friendly demeanor put everyone attending the wedding at ease. Working with her was an absolute joy, and it felt like having a friend alongside us as we celebrated our special day.
If you're looking for a wedding photographer who combines exceptional photography skills with a warm and approachable personality, Lorna Stell is the one. She exceeded our expectations in every way, and we are forever grateful for the stunning memories she has captured for us. We can't recommend her enough!"

BEING PHOTOGRAPHED WHEN YOU'RE FEELING STRESSED AND SELF-CRITICAL:
Today I want to brag on my client Dhivani. She’s a strategist, management scholar, educator…but above all else, a human.
When she came to me for updated headshots, she was about to finish her Ph.D. program, not to mention having just gone through the pandemic with 2 kids at home—Can you say stressed? 🙃 She also admitted to being hard on herself for “not looking like a supermodel.” Who else can relate??
We had an amazing first call together, getting to know each other and swapping stories of shared interests (one of them was tarot 😋). We talked through her vision for new photos that would help her literally put her best face forward as she enters this new chapter in her career…and off we went!
Above all else, she said she wanted to capture confidence and vibrancy in her new photos, with a clean + modern style and calming colors. What do you think, did we nail it? 🙂
Here’s what she had to say about her portrait experience:
📷 “I was at an all-time low in terms of confidence, and had arrived at a place that was the exact opposite of how I expected, envisioned or wanted to feel at this juncture in my life. But I knew that in spite of not looking or feeling like I had hoped, and my circumstances not turning out as I had hoped, that I still needed to project confidence and self-worth even if I wasn't feeling my best.
📷 I needed a photographer that could understand that I was really hoping to capture and project something specific -- confidence -- even if I wasn't feeling my best.
📷 My fear before my session with Lorna was simply that I would look like I always looked in photographs -- like I hated getting my picture taken; that I wasn't photogenic; and that I wasn't entirely secure in myself. I was worried that my insecurity would show through anyway. Typically I'm the one taking pictures, and I don't like getting my picture taken.
📷 My fear didn't come true at all! I was still nervous, but Lorna took so many great pictures and there were plenty of excellent options for me to choose from. She made the session fun and above all it was such a memorable day for me. I was also worried I that I didn't know how to pose and she helped with every single aspect of it.
📷 On a personal note I felt SO good about making this investment even if I wasn't at my ideal weight or even if I everything else in my life was chaotic and imperfect. It was worth every penny.
📷 What I'm most happy with is that I got precisely the vibe or essence I had wanted for photographs. I got a set of really great photos that showcased confidence and at the same time, a lot of personality. I couldn't be happier with the outcome.”

For me, the secret to giving clients positive photography experiences like this is:
👉🏼 Asking good questions so we're both clear on what you want out of your session
👉🏼 Really listening to you
👉🏼 Taking the time to make sure both of us feel comfortable with each other
👉🏼 Keeping open expectations as we uncover your preferences and what makes you feel the most like you
👉🏼 Moving at a relaxed pace (I don't know about you, but my nervous system doesn't love the stress of rushing—And even with that, somehow my session timeline estimates are almost always spot on and we're able to capture everything we need!)
It’s been a rough few months (and years!) for so many of us. Please don’t let that hold you back from a portrait experience you love, that can lift you up and show you your confidence again. I promise it’s still there, and you don’t need to look like a supermodel to embody it 😘
Ready for new photos that show off your magic, your strengths, and your personality? AND ready to do it in a way that feels organic, fun, and relaxed? Then I’m your girl! 🖤 The fun part is, you can also pair a photo experience with my Vitality Activation sessions so you can feel good inside AND out—Dhvani did this with me too!

Mega congrats to Lukas and Ariana on their engagement! Lukas proposed yesterday on the bridge in the Boston Public Garden surrounded by the start of some gorgeous fall foliage. Lukas popped the question just before another couple (also on the bridge!) so I think he won the day 😉 Ariana was beaming and brimming with happy tears, and looooves her ring 🖤

These two have been together for years and yesterday was the perfect day to make it officially official! Wishing you many more happy years together, Lukas and Ariana ✨

Huge congrats to Kevin and Kim!! Kevin proposed yesterday at the Saugus Iron Works (beating a huge storm by a couple hours) and she said yes!

Kevin and Kim traveled in from out of state and now their trip is extra special! This proposal comes after a trip they wanted to take last year was canceled due to Covid...Translation: this guy waited a YEAR for the perfect opportunity and did not disappoint! I’m not sure how he sat on this secret for that long without bursting, but it was so worth it! 🖤✨

Wishing you many more happy years together, Kevin and Kim!

Huge congrats to Lindsay and her new husband Daniel! ❤️ They had a super heartfelt intimate wedding with their closest family members at the Boston Public Garden on Sunday and there was no shortage of happy tears from everyone for these two! They wanted a wedding that was as relaxed as their personalities, and they wanted to celebrate while not having to be the center of attention for 8+ hours. Mission accomplished! 🙌🏻

Here's their story:

"Our relationship began with a year and a half of long distance.. across the Atlantic Ocean. Daniel is from Ireland while Lindsay is from Philadelphia, USA. We met in Barcelona while I (Lindsay) was studying abroad in Sevilla and Daniel was on a "boys trip". Daniel previously visited America for a summer where he met a group of people who happened to include one of my friends. We happened to be visiting this friend on the same weekend in Batcelona. From there, Lindsay went to Ireland a couple times before we began dating, which led to another year of back and forth untiI (Lindsay) graduated and moved to Ireland. After living in Ireland together for 2 years, we are back in the US, settled in a new city, Boston. We had talked about marriage because the thought of long distance ever again seemed miserable, but Daniel still wanted me to be surprised. After bugging him about getting a ring, he shocked me when he proposed on an average weekend for us out on the Charles River with my grandmother's engagement ring. (I know, he brought it on THE CHARLES RIVER). We decided a short engagement was for us, and 2 months later, we're getting married!"
