We put in an offer on another house tonight - we've already had two offers beaten, so we've got our fingers crossed that this is the one!

I've got so many things wandering my mind that I want to do in the new space. I'm incredibly excited to get settled into the new place and get back behind the lens! And I'm trying my damnedest not to rush things...to be present in the here and now and trust the process.

As I contemplate the space, I want to be incredibly intentional about the vibes in the room. I want to bring in mystery and romance and creativity and playfulness. So..I'm curious...what emotions does this evoke for you?

In just a few days, I'll be heading off for ShutterFest, an annual photography conference. I got myself registered for some absolutely incredible classes, and I've got 5 different private photoshoots on my schedule throughout the week. I thought I'd give you a little preview of what's coming.

A few years back, I took a photo of a dear friend. It was inspired by the idea of Poison Ivy going to a masquerade ball (I'll attach it in the comments). It was the first time I had tried any composite work, and I also learned how to make the liquid in her glass glow, as if it was some sort of toxic chemical.

Since then, I've wanted to do another shoot, working with glow-in-the-dark liquid. When we were experimenting with the idea of opening a meadery, I fell in love with the idea of doing a mad scientist photoshoot, where there were different honey concoctions in test tubes, and bees were flying around the lab!

While I won't be working with honey this time, I am finally going to get that mad scientist photoshoot I dreamed of capturing! When I saw that PauliverModeling would be at SF, I knew he would be absolute perfection for this vision!!

While ChatGPT can't quite get "mad" scientist, I love this mood board, and I can't wait to see this photoshoot come to life!!!

We talk about how men keep their guard up, how they struggle to be vulnerable. But let’s be honest—it’s not just men.

Women build walls, too. All the fu***ng time! We armor up with perfection, with people-pleasing, with ‘I’m fine’ when we’re anything but. We’ve been taught that softness is weakness, that baring our souls makes us breakable. So we hold it in. We carry it all. And we feel the weight of the world's expectations multiplying inside ourselves.

But what if, for just a moment, you decided to just let it all go? What if you gave yourself permission to feel—not just smile, not just pose, but to be seen exactly as you are?

This is what a bo***ir session is really about. Not just beauty, but honesty. Not just images, but a chance to see yourself without the weight of expectations.

Are you ready to let your guard down? DM me to book.

Ever heard someone talk about women as if we're just dainty flowers instead of fierce, rational beings? I'm over here rolling my eyes so hard. Because let's be real - none of us are dreaming of spending our lives floating in calm waters. We crave the wild waves, the challenges, the adventures that make our hearts race and our spirits soar. So, here's to embracing our inner storm chasers - because calm? That's just not how we're wired. 🌊

Are you courageous enough to rewrite the narrative with your own adventurous photoshoot? DM to book your session!

It's only a week away! This Valentine's Day, let's celebrate YOU in all your glory, no matter your style or mood💖. From the search for the *perfect* piece to embracing your wild side or commanding your space with confidence, Wicker West has a recommendation for every facet of your fabulous self:

🌸 **Romantic Dreamers**: For those who cherish the journey of finding that one piece that feels like destiny. An embroidered bodysuit isn't just lingerie; it's a love story you wear.

🥼 **Comfort Queens**: For the women who prioritize comfort above all - whether that's in what you wear or feeling comfortable in your own skin. A robe is a hug you can wear all day, embodying ease and grace.

🐾 **Feral Girlies**: For the untamed hearts with a penchant for the wild. Sink your claws into animal print and let your inner beast roam free in style.

⛓️ **Boss Babes**: And for those who walk into a room and own it with an unspoken power. Grab the straps, the buckles, leather, and the latex to bring out your inner do******ix!

Which vibe are you feeling this Valentine's Day? 💋

Sister, we need to talk.

I heard the way you’ve been speaking to yourself—the quiet criticisms, the cruel comparisons, the words you’d never say to someone you love.

And we’re not doing that anymore.

The world has tried to convince you that you're not enough, that your worth is conditional, that your dreams are too big. But hear me now: you are worthy. You deserve to be treated with the same tenderness you so freely give to others.

So today, let’s start small. A breath. A moment of kindness. A whisper of gentleness in the way you see yourself.

Because when you soften toward yourself, something magical happens.

You rise. You glow. You become unstoppable.

Luxuriate in your sensuality. Stand in your power. Let the world see what you’re made of.

I can't tell you how many times I heard growing up, "The camera adds 10 pounds." I'm here to tell you that simply isn't true. A bad photographer adds 10 pounds. Let me show you why.

This is the same person in both photos, wearing the same coat. Notice how he looks slimmer in the image on the left. There are a few reasons for this (and a filter isn't one of them):

1. The light on the left is hitting his back, while the light on the right is hitting his front - whatever the light hits more looks more prominent. So if I'm trying to accentuate a chest, I point it toward the light. If I'm trying to minimize a tummy, I point it away from the light.
2. In the image on the left, his arm is pulled away from his body, and in the image on the right, it's tucked against his body. This gap in the image on the left helps his waistline look more snatched.
3. The longer crop gives more vertical lines, which lengthen his body. The crop on the right has horizontal lines, which lead us to believe he is wider.

I want you to know that you don't have to be afraid of the camera. And you don't need to change your weight before your photoshoot. You're amazing just as you are!

DM if you're ready to set your fear aside and step in front of the camera

The breath has a way of breaking through where words can’t.

Stepping in front of the camera—especially in lingerie—isn't just scary. It’s vulnerable. It’s raw. It’s the kind of moment where your inner critic loves to show up, whispering all the reasons you’re not enough.

But here’s the thing: when those nerves hit, the simplest and most powerful tool is already with you—your breath.

A slow, steady inhale reminds your body it’s safe. A long, deep exhale quiets the noise in your mind. It’s not magic, but it feels like it. Because in that stillness, something beautiful happens: fear loosens its grip. Confidence finds its way in.

And it doesn’t stop there. In my studio, we use breath for more than just calming nerves. A well-placed inhale can capture vulnerability; a soft exhale can unveil strength. The breath connects you to the emotions you might not even know you’re holding onto. Together, we use it to create images that go beyond the surface—photos that hold truth, power, and raw emotion.

So when the time comes and your heart starts to race, I’ll remind you to take a breath. And with that, we’ll create something unforgettable.

Can I get super personal? When I sit down and recount my gratitude, one thing that keeps showing up is how lucky I am to have a partner who gives me space to pursue all the ambitious goals my heart desires. He keeps me anchored through the hardest days! What shows up over and over when you count your blessings?
