Through Minerva Creations, Amelia uses her creativity and talent in graphic design to help bring ideas to life. From branding to custom designs, her work helps businesses and individuals stand out and share their vision.

“Fourteen years ago, I left Middlesboro as an eager college student, certain that a career in graphic design could never be sustained in rural Kentucky. I had tunnel vision for 'success,' wherever it would take me, and a dream of owning my own business.

My career started in Lexington, where I sharpened my skills alongside some of Kentucky’s most talented creatives, was mentored by experts, and worked for regional and international brands. All the while, I saw my hometown undergo a renaissance. I watched it grow in increments through weekend visits and Instagram stories: new businesses, a revitalized downtown, and a renewed community spirit. It was magnetic.

This year, I returned to my hometown as a business owner and a proud new member of the Bell County Chamber of Commerce. I’m thankful to say that my career has come full circle and my views on success have evolved. I’m thrilled to offer the services of Minerva Creative Co. to the hardworking business owners of Bell County and beyond. As our businesses grow and thrive, so does our community. I’m especially grateful for the businesses that have already embraced my expertise, trusting me to build their brands and promote their dreams. For a designer, there is not much that compares with seeing a client embrace their new branding. Earlier this year I had the pleasure of working with Danny R. Smith II, Attorney At Law of Middlesboro, Kentucky to create his logo and visual brand identity. Since then, it has come to life through his custom-designed, soft-touch silver foil business cards, matching chrome wall sign, and more.

In this digital world filled with endless screens and AI, seeing a simple, beautiful brand exist in the physical space will never get old. 💙

Hot off the desk! 💻 I’m thrilled to have worked with Norris Lake Wine & Spirits on their newly launched logo and visual brand. Helping small businesses bring their vision to life is one of the best parts of freelancing!

This brand steps outside the norm of liquor stores in the area, blending refinement and warmth, and capturing the spirit of hospitality and experience. Their LaFollette, Tennessee storefront opens soon! Cheers to another great launch and new beginnings! 🥂

It was an honor to assist Mayor Boone L. Bowling in creating a visual brand for my hometown, Middlesboro, Kentucky. As an area that typically centers its language and identity around its geographic location and topography, it was clear that creating a new identity and direction would be a needed change to set it apart from other mountain towns. It was no small or simple task to combine both the history of the area with the vision for the future in a brand that appeals to an audience of all generations and tourists alike. The final logo design and brand speak to the longevity of the city: timeless, purposeful and full of promise.

There was a time in my not-so-distant youth where I thought that there were no opportunities for myself in my hometown, specifically as a graphic designer. I will happily admit that I was wrong, and working with the city and small businesses in the area has given me a chance to play a small role in seeing this town grow into a vibrant and proud community.

Congratulations to The City of Middlesboro Kentucky on this new chapter. The best is yet to come 💛

Brand photography is a valuable way to display your brand through visual storytelling and compile quality content for your social media and website.

As they gear up for a busy sale season, I wanted to share some of my favorite photos from my time away from my desk, getting mud on my boots (okay, tennis shoes!) at ZWT Ranch!

Many know, but an initial passion for photography was how I found my way to graphic design. I love an opportunity to step behind the lens and help brands grow by capturing and highlighting what makes them authentic to their mission, unique in their industry, and beyond. 📷

Minerva Creative Co. recently had the honor of assisting the University of Kentucky College of Social Work in re-branding their newly acquired collaborative network that promotes child well-being and maltreatment prevention: the Child Well-Being Research Network.

Is was essential that their brand reflect their work with children, as well as the workings of a network with many parts. They rely on passionate researchers, academic professionals, clinicians and policy makers help achieve their goal: child well-being at all cost.

Additional brand traits considered in the brand process were:

— Welcoming
