So, here the first shots of my latest piece.
Like stated before, this time I used a lot of leftover parts and older prototypes. All in all around 80 parts or so?
One Arduino Nano board for practical light and sound effects, The scope has got its own internal lighting.
Whoops, and as always, not a real weapon!

Finally I got around to make a day-and-night-video showing all of the effects of my V4 blaster.

Please don't be too hard on me, it's the first time I used a full frame camera and I'm still finding my way. I also had to operate camera, fog machine, lights and prop by myself 😁

I think I'm getting there though, keeping it focused is certainly one main issue...

PS, the buzzing sound towards the end is the fog machine ;-)

I've still got it I guess ;-)
Too much of an Aurora forecast today for me to ignore, and no clouds on the horizon for a change...
One could see some beams with the naked eye. And one needed no torch with a Half-Moon straight overhead, planes coming and going, a ferry slowly passing (and annoying us photographers), and the odd satellites passing through the sky.
This was close to Moa Point on Wellington's South Coast, from about 8:30-9:30.
And yeah, It's been fun to get a camera out again ;-)

Day off...
Both my "workshops" active today...
The "Werner Cave", basically my living room/dining room/office/studio/fine-paint-shop/design space. The shelf with the blaster guns holds mostly current projects.
Aaaand, there is the workshop on "Jakku" (aka my backyard), for sanding, all the rougher work and paintjobs too big for airbrushes.
Finally the weather starts to allow some work in the latter - for now.
Though still weak-ish, I still have to block out direct sunlight, already too much of a glare to do delicate work and fine sanding/polishing stuff.
I got most of the relevant tools and workpieces downstairs now and I better get started now 😁

Now that was perfect timing...
It's been a really nice day today, so I decided doing some sanding, filling and priming on parts for two of my current blasters.
I put up the tarp against the sun and just worked along till I had enough.
Removed the tarp, just to be safe, carried all the bits and pieces and tools upstairs into my studio/atelier/living room/office.
Since some parts weren't cured enough, I thought I set them in the sun, on the roof in front of my window - that's when the wind hit like a hammer, slapping the window into my face (yes, NZ windows still open outwards for no reason) and spilling the parts across the roof...
I collected all of them by now, and got blown around and wet.
A reminder that weather here can literally change like someone flicking a switch 😂
It's been a productive day though.
