Super super SUPER duper excited to have upgraded to a new computer today. It’s really bad when over half of my time editing was literally sitting there waiting for something to load, or a command to work, or a picture to save, etc. I timed how long it was taking to wait for things, and that sealed the deal that I needed to invest in a new computer.
Post-production time is so valuable to me, I want to crank out shoots fast, and I want to get people their finished images even faster. An investment like this is a good decision. Yes. So excited.

My October shoots are finally wrapped up. I had more shoots this October than I’ve every had, so a huge THANK YOU to everyone for contacting me and booking in your sessions this fall!

Now to the real time consuming part, the post production.

There are a few of you that I know need your images finished first, and I promise I am working on them.

Most of the time I am the one who scouts out locations, with a few key things in mind. Like lighting for example. However, if there is a place, or a cool "thing" that you've always thought would be nice for pictures, please tell me!! You can see beauty and neat things too!! like this place for example. Karla always thought it would be nice to get pictures by this old truck one day. It's out in a pasture, all alone. Just down the road actually from where I live, yet I had no idea it was there! What a great spot!

Travis gets brownie points for taking the initiative and getting family photos for Karla for Mothers Day. Karla is the mother, so we know she had to organize a lot of things in order to prepare for her families shoot, especially since we nailed down a date on fairly short notice in order to catch these leaves before they fell. I always enjoy my time with this bunch. We couldn't have had a nicer evening, zero wind, beautiful fall colors, and of course that lovely golden light. I don't take it lightly when clients return to me each year to update their family photos. It's truly special to me. Jordy is wonderful at ensuring her family growth is documented regularly, which is something I personally wish I did more with my own family and children. They really do grow fast. My oldest is in grade 11 this year, and I keep finding myself thinking WHERE DID THE TIME GO. I do have openings for more fall sessions if you're inspired to do your own family's photos this fall. The leaves are pretty much at their peak, so let's hustle and do something next week!
