Saint's portrait is complete! This is an 8x10 "loose" style acrylic (as loose as I’m comfortable with obviously 😂) done for the winner of a pet portrait raffle to help support Rescued - a local non-profit who donates to pets in need.

I took a time lapse of my painting session today so you can see a couple hours worth of painting in under a minute! I'll post the end results in comments. I still have another session to go to finish him up, so this is a work in progress. Hope you enjoy!

Scruffy is home with his Momma! I love this little corner nook she created to keep him close. Scruffy had the best life and was SO well loved - it was an honor to memorialize him in this way. ♥️🐾

From concept to finished piece, I am pretty pleased with the results. 12x12 acrylic, oil pastel fingerpainting, and then oils to finish off this sweetest pup with his name in the stars. ✨♥️🐾

Hi! Long time no see! I hope you are having a great summer and staying cool!!

I’m working on several pieces concurrently- this one is turning out just like I envisioned so thought I'd share the progress.

I initially intended to do this portrait in oil, but wound up working on several other acrylic pieces so I went ahead and got a start on it in acrylic. When I approached the Northern Lights background, I wanted to do something a little different and so I pulled out my oil pastels for the Northern Lights. I pulled the pastels through like a finger painting, which has always been super fun for me. I did a series of oil pastel finger paintings a long time ago and it just felt really perfect and appropriate for this piece.

Once I finished that portion, I thought it would be great to carry it through to the rest of the painting. I used a small stiff brush to splatter a Starfield in acrylic over the Northern Lights and night sky and blended some more of the northern lights over the top of the stars so they're a little faded in the background just like they are in real life. I am really loving how this is coming along and very excited to finish it up!

Once this has dried a bit. I can go over the dog with lighter shades of white fur and put all that texture in. Then I'll connect some stars in this lovely pups name and he will be ready to varnish!
