As many of you know, I am now disabled and no longer able to pursue professional photography. It is time for a slight course correction as I sneak up on retirement. Effective May 1st I will be offering editing services to folks. *Not retouching. If you create RAW files that you'd like to have someone cull/edit, I'd like to give them a shot.

If you don't like the results, let me know and I'll try to fix the images. Your satisfaction is our goal, so if the second try is still a miss, you don't have to pay. Your feedback is greatly appreciated. With the photographer's permission, I may use them as advertising "before and after" images. I'd love some testimonials as well.

At this time, I'm only offering a "natural look" or B&W. Please be patient as I set up this operation, establish prices, website, and policies. Lord willing, the business will be up and fully operational by May 1st.

RAW files are preferred. And photo tips will be added as time progresses.

Hey Jonathan Dalton why don't you play catch with your son?Wait! That's NOT what I meant.

Due to a progressive health issue, Dalton Photography is effectively closed. What started 10 years ago as a bit of a nuisance has gradually taken away my ability to do one photo service after another.
In addition to supporting my family, photography has enabled me to meet many people who have become friends. For this, I are very grateful. This page will be deleted soon.
Thank you to all my clients of the past 30+ years. It's been a great ride.

Five hints for creating better Christmas Photos-

• If you have a nicer flash, bounce the light off the white ceiling for a softer and more even illumination of your subjects.
• Coordinate clothing for your family’s Christmas photo. You don't have to put everyone in matching outfits, but at least avoid bright colors, prints, stripes, large logos, and any other attire that could be considered distracting. Solids always do best.
• Don't forget candid images. Create photos of your little ones baking holiday cookies, decorating, playing games, etc. Get the whole family in on the fun!
• To add a creative look to your posed photos, place your family members at least 5 feet from the Christmas tree or other decorations and use a wide aperture such as f/2.8.
