Over the years, I’ve realized that photography was never the only thing I was building. What started behind the camera has evolved into leading creative vision, shaping brand identity, and helping businesses tell stories with intention.

Stepping deeper into the role of Creative Director has allowed me to return to my roots as a designer — something that began long before photography. Studying graphic design at Savannah College of Art and Design taught me to think beyond visuals and focus on systems, storytelling, emotion, and experience.

That foundation is a huge part of why FRYME Studios has grown into a full-service creative agency. Today, we’re not just creating images — we’re building campaigns, developing brands, producing films, designing identities, and helping companies communicate with clarity and purpose.

The camera may have opened the door, but creative direction is what’s shaping the future.

I share my love-hate relationship with social media and discuss how while it benefits my business, I don’t believe it’s the end-all measure of success. I talk about the pressure to post constantly, study algorithms, and use the right hashtags and emojis. I view social media as an extension of your business, not a reflection of your bank account. I explain that followers and likes don’t equal financial success—hard work does. Whether you get one comment or a hundred, what truly matters is providing for your family and achieving your financial goals, not your social media engagement metrics.

We discuss how watching too much YouTube can make you feel inadequate as a photographer if you don’t have the latest cameras, lenses, and lights. I share how I fell victim to this mindset myself, believing I needed expensive gear to improve. We talk about how influencers can make you feel like lacking equipment makes you less professional or creative, when in reality creativity comes from within. While having the right tools matters, they’re just extensions of your vision. If you have nothing meaningful to say or create, the gear has no value. Don’t feel pressured to buy the latest equipment to become a better photographer.

I candidly share how I find myself critiquing my work after each session, grappling with self-doubt and questioning my abilities. I explore the internal pressure that drives me to constantly strive for better, inviting viewers to connect with these feelings if they resonate with them.

I talk about the challenges I face as a professional photographer, starting with my constant struggle to improve on every shoot I complete. I discuss how I find myself critiquing my work after each session, wondering if I’m good enough and questioning why I keep making the same mistakes. One day, these photographs will mean everything.

Not because of how they look…
but because of who is in them.

A mother.
Her children.
A moment that feels ordinary now —
but will never exist in quite the same way again.

She is the one who holds everything together.
The one who shows up, every day, in ways that often go unseen.

And yet, when we look back,
she’s so rarely in the frame.

Queens & Heirs was created to change that.

An heirloom portrait commission designed to preserve the bond between mothers and their children — with intention, care, and permanence.

Because one day, these images won’t just be photographs…
they will be part of your family’s story.
