Colorado newborn and family lifestyle photographer: the joy and beauty of every day. I am married, and my husband and I revel in the fact that we both have a little bit of “nerd” in us. He is a web manager, and we happily got thrown together a lot in our college days when he was the online editor of the paper and I was the photo editor. We went to a small Catholic college situated on the bluffs of

the Missouri River in Kansas, and our three girls keep us on our toes with the joy, laughter, and, well, destruction they bring to our lives. I am so grateful for them. I love reading, a good British show (Call the Midwife, anyone?), rainy days, and homemade whipped cream. My interest in photography started in grade school, but it really kicked off in college when I studied for and received degrees in Mass Communications and Art, both emphasizing photography. I feel like getting a little experience on each side of the spectrum helped me to both watch for those photojournalistic moments as well as those that are just pure beauty. I strive to capture authentic moments: the joy of the every day, of this moment, in your lives. Some of my obsession with capturing “the moment” comes from my terrible (and I mean terrible) memory. It’s such a joy to look back on photos and have them trigger memories that would otherwise be lost in the dusty recesses of my mind. I can’t wait to hear from you and give you something beautifully tangible from your life at this time.

Thank you, Colorado, for a warmish day after a snowy night so we could fit in this session without freezing.

Francis is a fabulously talented theater senior who will take their second lap as a senior at Interlochen Arts next year. If you want to see them in one more performance, they'll be in 's Addams Family.

Starting out the new year with a fresh babe seems right. It’s just icing on the cake that he’s the most darling redhead, as well. I was sure I had photographed his big sister’s newborn photos only a couple of years ago… it turns out she’s four! 😮‍💨

An ode to this year’s Nutcracker at . This was the tenth Nutcracker I’ve photographed and each one has been unique and special. There was something extra about this one as they pulled it together while being studio nomads and then finally being in their new space.

Just peeking in to say that I hope you have had the loveliest of holidays. The Colorado natives in my life all let me in on the fact that when the breeze smells like manure, snow is coming, so hopefully we can top the week off with the wintery weather we were missing on Christmas day.

With Christmas break upon us a bit early, it feels like the time to share these on the grid. We snuck a little session in with ' darling girls at . These photos feel like everything you hope Christmas will feel like: love, joy, silliness, beauty, warmth, and family.

A few months ago, my friend, Erica, mentioned in our group chat that she really wanted to do family pictures this year, but dreaded figuring out outfits for everyone. Another friend, Liz, and I, were all in, immediately. We spent an afternoon going through closets to see what they already had that worked together, went shopping for a handful of missing items, and topped it off with dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant. This is the kind of group project you only dream of in school, everyone works together and it all ends with a shoot that kept me smiling the whole time.

Autumn in Colorado has been quite unusually warm and dry. While I missed our October snow, it was quite lovely for keeping all the littles I photographed warm and happy!
