Iran's foreign minister accused the United States and Israel on Friday of fuelling a growing protest movement in the country, while dismissing the possibility of direct foreign military intervention after U.S. warnings over crackdowns on demonstrators.

"This is what the Americans and Israelis have stated, that they are directly intervening in the protests in Iran," said Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi during a visit to Lebanon.

"They are trying to transform the peaceful protests into divisive and violent ones," he said, adding that "regarding the possibility of seeing military intervention against Iran, we believe there is a low possibility of this because their previous attempts were total failures."

Iran pursuing compensation for US-Israel aggression: Araghchi
TEHRAN, Jan. 08 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says that his ministry is collecting documents to receive compensation for US-Israeli aggression waged against the country.

He stated that the Iranian foreign ministry is following up on necessary measures to get compensation for the 12-day US-Israeli attack at the international bodies, noting that the Legal Office of the Presidential Bureau is responsible in this regard.

Iran’s top diplomat expressed hope that his ministry will reach a final conclusion in cooperation with other responsible bodies on the issue.

On June 13, 2025, Israel launched a blatant and unprovoked aggression against Iran while Washington and Tehran were in a process of nuclear negotiations. The Israeli attack triggered a 12-day war that killed at least 1,064 people in the country, including military commanders, nuclear scientists, and ordinary civilians.

The United States also entered the war by bombing three Iranian nuclear sites in a grave violation of international law.

In response, the Iranian Armed Forces targeted strategic sites across the occupied territories as well as the Al-Udeid air base in Qatar, the largest American military base in West Asia.

On June 24, Iran, through its successful retaliatory operations against both the Israeli regime and the US, managed to impose a halt to the aggression.

Yemen's separatists on Wednesday accused Saudi Arabia of arbitrarily detaining a senior delegation that travelled to Riyadh for talks following clashes in the country's south.

"More than 50 STC officials have been arbitrarily detained and taken to an unknown location by the Saudis. We call on their immediate release and put the onus on Saudi Arabia for their safety," the Southern Transitional Council said in a statement.

TEHRAN, Jan. 07 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Ministry’s spokesman has condemned the Israeli foreign minister's visit to Somaliland, denouncing interference in Somalia.

Esmaeil Baghaei termed the illegal entry of the foreign minister of Zionist regime to Somaliland as the blatant violation of the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country.

Referring to the special emphasis of the international community on the need to respect the territorial integrity and national sovereignty of Somalia as an independent state and member of the United Nations, the Iranian diplomat described the Zionist regime's act aimed at dividing Somalia as a dangerous heresy in international relations and a fatal blow to the legal and normative foundations of the United Nations.

Baghaei emphasized the need for cooperation between the international community and Islamic and African countries to prevent the undermining of the national sovereignty of Somalia.
