I decorated my new fun and funky hat yesterday. 👒✨

One of the lovely things about being 60 is that you stop worrying so much about what other people think.

You wear what you love.

You create what brings you joy.

You become more yourself.

I've always loved nature, photography, colour, creativity and, of course, hats. 😊

This one started out plain and ordinary, but after a little imagination, some ribbon and a feather, it now feels much more like me.

Colourful.

A little quirky.

A little wild.

And still evolving.

Much like its owner. ❤️

Some of the best teachers I've met on my journey have been Nguni cattle. 🐄

For three months I went back and forth, capturing and photographing them — and what peaceful, magnificent beings they are. 🙏

Those big brown eyes. The steady, centred presence from which they move through the world. Observing everything. Chewing slowly and intentionally. Standing for hours in a patch of grass. Simply being one with Nature.

Something was quietly instilled in me during that time. I sometimes close my eyes and imagine I'm seeing life through the eyes of an Nguni.

This beautiful bull allowed me to sit beside him while I chatted away — and we had a real conversation that day. 💛

I went on to create a series called '7 Sacred Nguni' — do take a look on my website and share in my bliss. 🤍

🚨 URGENT HELP NEEDED FOR SISSI 🐾

Meet Sissi ❤️

She is deeply loved by her owner, but sadly sterilisation is simply beyond their means.

Without help, Sissi faces a future of repeated litters, exhaustion, and suffering. By sterilising just one female dog, we help prevent countless unwanted puppies from being born into lives of neglect and hardship.

Buckaroo is struggling financially to continue helping the sick, vulnerable, and unwanted dogs we encounter every day. We are volunteers, and right now we need your help.
