Photo of the Week

It's my birthday today :) I absolutely love this time of the year, and for more than that reason - the winter light, no wind, peace and quiet, late mornings and early nights, and the sunsets! You can't call this WINTER!!!

Restaurant of the Week: Utopia - Mouille Point

Always an incredible dining experience! The one thing that sets Utopia apart from some of the other establishments offering tasting menus, is their value for money, as I think they may be one of the more affordable offerings. Coupled with the breath taking views of the city no matter where you are seated in the restaurant, makes this dining experience highly recommended!

Our evening was effortless, no hiccups, excellent customer service, delicious food and a relaxed ambience.

Photo of the Week

For those who don't know this part of the world - this is Eden on the Bay (Bloubergstrand). I takes me just over 30 min to drive from here to Lions Head which can be seen to the right of the photo. To be in such proximity to hiking spots, town central and the beach is an absolute luxury!

The Two Ocean Aquarium

I probably visit the aquarium at least once a year as all South Africans receive a free ticket in our birthday month. The penquin enclosure is my second favourite part in the acquarium that I love to sit and spend some time.

Restaurant of the Week: Clarke's - Bree Street Cape Town

Bonus: they are pet friendly! I really think we had an incredible brunch! I chose the cauliflower soup and toasted cheese sandwich, and again could not finish my meal (but my husband helped me with that!) He had ordered the Huevos Rancheros. Our fresh fruit juices were refreshing and coffee was super good! Will definitely be back!

Forgive the long absence from me posting anything here on this page, as I was out exploring another continent :) Cape Town still remains the only place in the world that I want to call home!

Steam Train to Elgin

This is a great winter experience to enjoy in Cape Town! There's something special about catching the train from the V&A Waterfront as the sun rises, enjoying a breakfast and coffee while taking in the views, and then exploring the Elgin Market for a few hours before hopping back on. An absolute treat!

Restaurant of the Week: Upper Union – CBD

I love dining at this restaurant! Why:

Firstly – the décor! I chose seating in the partial patio section, which I personally think is the best spot for a couple or group of four – lots of light, mirrors, and greenery. I appreciated the keen eye for detail applied to everything: from the crockery and glasses to the table setting and serviettes.

Then the food: I love ordering their small plates. The recommendation is three to four plates to share, and I’d definitely go with that suggestion. Fair portions, all beautifully presented. The small plates allows you to experience so many taste sensations!

They have great cocktails too!
