Restaurant of the Week: Brookdale Estate, Paarl

Fireplace - nice and cozy and warm!
Excellent customer service
Excellent wines!

To start: Duck Liver Pate - incredibly yummy!
Risotto - which is the Chef's signature dish and can be served as a main too - this was one of the tastiest risottos we have had!
Mains: Chargrilled fillet and the Pan seared fish (Cape Salmon). Both dishes were perfectly prepared!
Sides: Handcut Fries and Broccoli and avocado salad - which we all highly recommend! We were so pleasantly surprised by the combination and have all vowed to try and make this at home!

Would I go again? Definitely 🙌

Restaurant of the Week: Salt and Sage, Tableview

I haven't dined at Salt and Sage since they moved premises to around the corner from their last spot and I think their new restaurant is just beautiful!

The only negative comment I have is that their menus are printed super small! I don't ordinarily need readers, but found myself squinting through the menu!
Their menu is nicely varied, and their meals are incredibly tasty! 3 of us ordered the Seafood en Papilotte (hake, prawns and mussels served on linguini and baked in a bag) - everyone gave it a 5*. I had 3 small plates, all of which I would order again:
Whole shell mussels, Chorizo Prawns (omg.. divine) and the Grilled Calamari.

I certainly would be back! Love this place!

The Wi******er must be home to the most beautiful bougainvilleas in the Western Cape! On a beautiful day, dining in the courtyard with the sound of the water fountain is such a serene setting.

Cape Town Experiences: Outdoor Putt-Putt, Mouille Point

Great to play as a couple, family or group of friends! There are two courses to choose from both having 18 holes. Not the easiest of courses :) !

Then take a walk to the icecream truck and enjoy a soft serve as a treat!

Restaurant of the Week: Asoka - Kloof Street

We were a group of 8 ladies who dined at Asoka mid-week in winter, and the restaurant was fully booked! Making a reservation is certainly a must.

Our waitress was phenomenal! Attentive without being a pest, accommodating, and knew the menu inside out! Our orders were correctly taken and served. Every single dish we ordered, we enjoyed, and not one dish was not recommended by the friends.

I highly recommend the goat's cheese croquettas, the Thai vegetable yellow curry and grilled ostrich fillet.

Such a wonderfully vibey restaurant!

We have been so grateful to have experienced the most calm, peaceful, and serene winter evenings lately. The soft, golden light of the setting sun, the crisp air, and the sea breeze have all combined to create a sense of tranquility and coziness that's hard to find in our busy daily lives. It's moments like these that remind us to slow down, appreciate the beauty around us, and cherish the love and warmth of our loved ones.

Restaurant of the Week: Beyond - Buitenverwagting, Constantia

Oh my goodness - an absolutely perfect dining experience! I think that the restaurant has thought out everything with intention and with a keen eye for detail: from the crockery, to dish presentation, to their cocktails - I noticed and appreciated everything!

Customer service was warm and highly efficient. Ambiance was great - the view over the vineyards is just gorgeous. And every bite of each dish served was so tasty, well balanced and in the end fulfilling! I highly recommend Beyond!

Restaurant of the Week: Glen Carlou Restaurant - Paarl

Winter Special: 3-course set menu @ R425 pp (+ bottle of complimentary wine per couple who order the 3-course).

Everything - hands down a 5* rating!

Our waitress was attentive without being pushy. We were allowed to enjoy a long, slow lunch.

Our meals were all incredibly tasty, with fair portion sizes and well presented. There wasn’t a starter, main, or dessert that we wouldn't recommend.

Starters: Chicken Livers, Snails & Leek Pastry, Grilled Pear, Tomato Soup
Mains: Lamb Shank, Duck Leg, Ostrich Steak
Dessert: Tiramisu, Cheesecake Brownie

It's recommended to make a reservation timeously as the restaurant was fully booked the weekend before and the day of our reservation.

I highly recommend Glen Carlou!!
