This gem of a place crept up on my travel list, thanks to 🪴
It’s the most peaceful and safest place I’ve experienced. (Despite the hostility and chats about potentially being invaded by China).

The Taiwanese people seemed to have nailed living in harmony. Folks can be seen, in the early morning, practicing breathing and stretching techniques in the parks.

They not only mindful of their own well being, but of the environment & others around them too.
Any lost items can be retrieved by simply retracing your steps, guaranteed.

Formerly part of the Japanese colony - Taiwan is rich in Japanese culture. Michelin star restaurants on every other corner, at the train station too!

Land of the casino’s, hotels, the karaoke nights and the egg tarts. Monte Carlo of the East, China’s very own Las Vegas.

Interesting stat about Macau is that it brings in over 3 times the revenue as Vegas.
This little place is sprawling with glitzy hotels,
with their very own renditions of Big Ben and the Eiffel Tower.

Tip: tick off a karaoke night while you’re there. To my surprise, my karaoke night experience lasted a whopping 8 hours 😩

Hong Kong, one of the busiest places I’ve visited. 7.5M people, tight proximities, lots of hustle and bustle but the efficient transport system makes it convenient.

I found Hong Kong to be surprisingly safe. Upon arrival, we visited a local restaurant with all our luggage. Our host casually said we should leave it all outside at the entrance. Outside where I can’t see all my belongings? In the ever vibing Central Hong Kong?
We did it and probably had the most nerve wrecking meal, but the bags remained untouched.
I’m not sure what expectations I had, but trying to be less cautious as a South African is a tall order.

Vibrant and international, definitely one of those places where your dreams decide to wake up and want to come to life immediately - much like New York.

Yes, I’m going back very soon.
