Long before photography — and more than 200 years before Iris Art — people were already capturing the eyes of those they loved.

In the late 1700s and early 1800s, tiny hand-painted portraits known as “Lover’s Eyes” became treasured pieces of jewellery. Rather than showing an entire face, the miniature revealed only the eye — creating an intimate and sometimes secret keepsake whose identity was known only to those closest to the wearer.

Today, the tradition feels remarkably familiar.

At Iris Art, we use modern photography to capture the extraordinary detail, colour and individuality hidden within your iris — transforming it into contemporary artwork that is completely and uniquely yours.
