The Story Behind the Photo

This one's about perfect timing... and slightly unsteady groomsmen. πŸ˜‚

Just after the garter toss, I was lining up a photo of the guy who caught it. Out of nowhere, a couple of the groomsmen decided he deserved a victory lift.

There was just one problem...

Nobody told him.

Before he even knew what was happening, he was up in the air... and about two seconds later, back on the ground. πŸ˜‚

Luckily, he was completely fine, and somehow I managed to catch the exact moment everything went sideways.

Definitely one of those photos that's even better once you know the story behind it.

This one's about Zuantè Swarts ♑. dad.

Just before she walked out, I asked him to think back for a second. The first time he held her. How tiny her hands were. Her first day of school. All the little moments that somehow turned into years.

Then I said, "That little girl is about to walk around the corner."

The second he saw her, it all hit him.

He wasn't just looking at a beautiful bride. He was seeing his little girl, every memory, every milestone, every chapter of her life, all at once.

Sometimes the most powerful part of a photograph isn't what you can see.

It's the story you can't.
