A year ago, I met Dani and Nick for their maternity shoot , capturing the quiet anticipation before their little boy arrived.

Soft light, steady hands, and the kind of laughter that settles the heart before a beautiful day.

This recent wedding in the Cederberg was especially meaningful, not only because the setting was beautiful, but because the couple are dear friends of mine. A few of us came together to help prepare their day, and it created the most warm, effortless atmosphere.

Being behind the camera for moments like these is such a privilege. Small weddings allow space for genuine connection, candid emotion, and storytelling that feels personal and true.

Honestly, at first, I thought this shoot was going to be a challenge. Chloe seemed quiet and reserved—understandably a bit nervous. I wondered how I’d get her to relax, to let go, to truly embrace the moment. A million ideas ran through my head about how to ease her into feeling more like herself.

But I couldn’t have been more wrong.

Within minutes, Chloe and I both shifted. She opened up, and we found ourselves deep in conversation. The connection was instant. The shoot ran long, yet she was incredible—patient, open, and willing to explore every creative idea. It felt natural, effortless, and deeply connected.

Walking away from this session, I felt inspired. Chloe reminded me of an important lesson: first impressions never tell the whole story. I’m constantly in awe of the beauty of human connection, and these moments—where my clients reveal their truest selves—are what fuel my passion for photography.

From anxious to aligned — this recent newborn session reminded me why I love what I do. It was my first time photographing a newborn, and while I felt those first-time jitters, they quickly melted away. Had the most wonderful collaboration session with MyBoomBra and Silver Mama’s Angel Callers. It was such an easy, comfortable, and truly organic experience with an absolutely phenomenal model. I had an amazing time in the studio with the Mahola family! The energy was so relaxed, the music was flowing, and this incredible family really brought their A-game, making my job a breeze. They gifted me with the most beautiful portraits that truly capture their essence!
