Four days inside Africa’s biggest jazz festival. Not as a guest. As the production team.

CTIJF 2026 was the first real test of the ByBento model at scale. Full content production: photography, videography, editing, social media, all delivered in real time from a war room inside the CTICC. Fifteen creatives across three venues, from the Free Concert at Greenmarket Square to the after party at Young Bloods. Systems, process, people, all pressure-tested at festival pace.

I wore two hats: Executive Producer running the operation, and lead photographer shooting the main stages both nights. Jacob Collier, Sheila E., Abdullah Ibrahim, Yussef Dayes, Scorpion Kings. Four stages running simultaneously, every one of them covered.

The system worked. Shooters feeding content to editors in real time. A DIT building the aftermovie timeline while the festival was still happening. A social media manager publishing with client sign-off before the encore finished. 1M+ organic views across 119 pieces of content in four days. That’s the proof of concept.

Thoban Jappie and Miyo Jade were my left and right arm across this entire project. Thoban and I go way back to the Mobile Media Mob days. Back in the trenches together. Like old times.

Best of 2025 // my year in still frames.

A year measured less in numbers than in moments but for context, there were a lot of frames, a lot of miles, and a lot of trust involved. From remote places like Antarctica to trail running in the mountains. From refining my technical skills in the studio (shout out to the lighting pros) to shooting live events with some of the biggest stages on the planet. Commercial work for global brands, product from fashion to food, and everything in between.

Trying to select just one image from each month is impossible, so this isn’t a collection of my technically best photos. These are images that personally resonate with me, a feeling I had when I shot them, or a moment that still sparks something when I look at them again.

Grateful for the beautiful faces and places, the trusting clients, and the talented crews I get to work alongside. I love what I do. Excited to see what 2026 brings.

Throwback to one of my favourite moments from the Running the Alps trip. We were deep in the Alps, well after sunset, no signal, starting to worry. Then a single light appeared far up on the ridge. It was . True to form, he flew past us without stopping, and I ended up chasing him all the way down to the van in the valley. Classic.
