Sand in your hair eyes nose mouth fingers clothes and jelly sweets and dog treats and wet shaky zoomie delirium for Astros first day at the beach.
Buckets and spades you don’t need while you dig like the goodest boy, building castles and trenches. Picnic blanket snacks and sunglasses but no change of clothes for the one who gets fully submerged in the icy Atlantic 5 minutes after we arrive.
We climb the sun baked rocks so you can jump off the highest and what a smile that puts on your sandy faces. The pink pastel sand blends into the rainbow sky that steals the sun but you don’t care about golden hour you care about rocks and McDs for supper and the whale you saw and the cold, so cold.
It’s wild and it’s messy and wonderful and it’s yesterday and today but more importantly preserving them for tomorrow, which comes faster and faster every night 🤍
