Dear Clients, Fans and Friends,

It is with a bittersweet mixture of gratitude and sadness that I write this today. After much consideration and soul-searching, I have made the difficult decision to close down Goosebump Productions, a company that has been a source of immense joy and fulfilment for me over the years. The decision was not an easy one, but sometimes in life, we must embrace change and seek new horizons.

First and foremost, I want to express my heartfelt appreciation to each and every one of you. Your unwavering support and trust, has been instrumental in our journey. It has been an honour and privilege to work with such remarkable clients. Throughout our time together, we have created countless memories, embarked on incredible projects, and achieved milestones that exceeded our wildest dreams.

While the closing of Goosebump Productions marks the end of a chapter, it also signifies the beginning of an exciting new adventure. I have decided to take some time to explore new creative avenues and embark on personal projects that have been calling out to me. Change, though daunting, often opens doors to unforeseen opportunities, and I am eager to embrace them.

I have mustered the courage to unveil a collection of my works. This exhibition will be included in the McGregor Art Walk which is scheduled for the weekend of 23 October 2023. Additionally, a selection of my images can be found on display within La Galleria online gallery. Feel free to explore here: https://www.danisphotos.com/danis-friends-prints?Photographers=Mark+Chipps

For those interested in my latest venture, McGregor Gees, I invite you to visit my Facebook and Instagram pages. It's another passionate endeavor that I've undertaken.

If you wish to stay connected and witness the unveiling of my forthcoming projects, I encourage you to follow me on Instagram. Through this platform, I shall continue to share my general photography, as well as unveil the fruits of my other creative undertakings.

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you for your unwavering support throughout the years. Your encouragement has fuelled my journey and allowed me to reach this pivotal point in my life. I believe that the future holds great promise, and I am thrilled to have you by my side as I embark on this new chapter.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Warm regards,
Mark Chipps

I spent a very enjoyable weekend with my neighbours in McGregor photographing their woodfire pottery workshop. Woodfired kilns are quite rare and here there are four! The results are quite spectacular.

For me this story is not really about mountain bike racing. For me it is a story about South Africa. Max had a negative life threatening experience in SA. He had the means and the option to leave, but decided to stay and make a difference. And this is how that decision not only changed his life, but many, many more lives. Because of Max the village of McGregor now has the highest number of bicycles per capita in the country. This is a story about two people from very different backgrounds working together to overcome seemingly impossible obstacles. It is the only way to realise our dreams. This short film was produced by a team on young people from McGregor – it is their first film – 6 months ago they had never touched a camera.

It was a honour to be asked to be a part of this production, working with some of the industry’s best in the legendary Sunset Studio - which is out of this world.

It was wonderful to be shooting again.

It was also an opportunity to be assisted by one of the up and coming filmmakers that I have been mentoring from Masiphumelele. He got his first production experience to add to his already impressive CV. Thanks Ian.

It was also great to see how the genius of Schalk Joubert edited this together.

One of the upsides of the lockdown is a lot of free time and we have taken advantage this by mentoring people from disadvantaged communities to help them tell their stories. There are crews of creative people from Masiphumelele and from Ocean View who are showing a lot of promise. Here we are having some fun at the Rasta Camp in Ocean View.

The African Board Fellowship has come to an end. After several inspiring years of working with the crew from US based company, Accion - we are sad to see them move their African base to Kenya. Through this programme we have seen a shift in the way African business leaders are approaching governance and our hope for Africa has been restored. Thank you Accion and ABF for an incredible last few years.
