Due to unforseen circumstances and life in general I will be shutting down the business side of QLG Photography. I will still shoot for personal enjoyment but updates to this page will be less frequent. Thanks for all the wonderful memories captured over the years!

I have been friends with George for many years, so it was an honour when he asked me to shoot their wedding and couple shoot. Because of this I decided that it would be great to try out a new location for their couple shoot, to get a different look and feel to the typical locations I use. George and Gulim were on board and we all arrived for breakfast at Long St in Cape Town’s city centre early on Easter Sunday morning. I wanted to arrive early so that we could get the whole place to ourselves… and we did! The streets were empty and we got some great shots in with Long St’s iconic heritage buildings as the backdrop. I didn’t want to leave as the conditions were awesome! We moved onto The Company’s Gardens for a stroll afterwards and I think this softened up the shoot quite nicely. George and Gulim were great in front of the lens and I cannot wait to spend their wedding day with them, it’s going to be fun!

With Kenny & Susan I was finally was able to shoot a wedding in my own back yard, no trekking to the winelands on this big day. The ceremony was held at The Range in Tokai, a beautiful little church with an accompanying reception venue and backdrop of Table Mountain. Spectacular! The nearby forest offered the perfect place to snap a few images of the bridal party while the guests were being entertained by a talented artist doing caricatures. A great discovery on the couple shoot was the old broken down Mercedes farm truck that contrasted wonderfully with the handsome and beautiful couple. After some hilarious and heartfelt speeches the day ended off with family and friends celebrating late into the night, what a day! I wish Kenny & Susan all the best for the future, and thanks for choosing a local venue….. the drive home was very quick.

It was hot, very hot! The African sun was blazing down and the heat was stifling at times. However this didn’t stop a beautiful wedding taking place at one of Cape Town’s many breath-taking countryside wedding destinations. Andrew and Eloise were married under a tree top canopy at Knorhoek Wine Estate in Stellenbosch, in an intimate ceremony attended by loving family and friends. The day unfolded perfectly with all the festivities rolling along at an easy going pace. This I denote to Andrew & Eloise’s calm demeanour throughout the day. Great speeches, an excellent menu and party starting music from the DJ kept everyone entertained into the late hours of the night. It truly was a magical wedding and I wish them all the best in their life together, here is a sneak peek of the day.

Another beautiful day in Cape Town and another couple shoot at Noordhoek Beach. This time I had the couple's (Kenny & Susan) dog tag along. I think I will do this more often after this shoot, it really broke the ice and created a relaxed vibe for everyone to just have fun on the beach. These are just a few of the pics from the shoot, looking forward to the wedding in January, congrats guys!

Andrew and Eloise decided to swop out their couple shoot for a family shoot on Noordhoek Beach in Cape Town, South Africa. Both sides of the families battled through traffic to make it on time for the sunset, which was accompanied by gale force winds. The difficult conditions didn't dampen anyone's spirits and good fun was had by all. Fish 'n chips and cold beers in the parking lot finished off the day with smiles all around.

Ryan & Lisa chose to have their beach style wedding on Sandbaai Beach in Cape Town, South Africa. Surrounded by family and close friends they said their vows to each other in the sand, to much applause and fanfare. It was a truly magical ceremony. The reception was held at Bientang’s Cave in Hermanus, with an incredibly stunning sea view backdrop of Walker Bay. What A venue! What followed was a great celebration of life and love for everyone there…. that continued into the early hours of the morning. It was a great day and I wish them all the best in their life together, here is a small sample of what happened on the day.

Grant and Fran are old friends of mine and this, I'm sure, helped a lot in creating a relaxed and fun shooting environment throughout the day. Great people, great locations and a stunning backdrop to the service were just some of the ingredients that shaped one of the best shoots I have done so far. The results speak for themselves below so I will let these few images tell the story of their day. Thank you guys for letting me share this awesome day with you, and I wish you many many more happy years together.
