"That Red Dress" Non commissioned conceptual fashion shoot! I saw a movie once with a beautiful woman in a stunning evening dress overlooking New York city from the penthouse of a tall sky scraper! Since then I've always wanted to shoot something simelar myself! So Friday evening comes rolling around and my good friend and favorite model Ané Brittz and I made magic! Thank you Ane, you're an absolute star! The final photograph, is a composite of two photographs, one shot from my humble balcony in Gordons Bay, (a bit expensive to fly to NewYork and hire a penthouse) the other an image I shot of Cape Town City from Signal Hill! I'm 80% satisfied with the results & any one who knows me will tell you thats a good sign! So I shot this image many years ago with film, long before the advent of digital cameras. I processed the film and made a black and white print in my darkroom. I then sepia toned the print with chemicals that smelled like rotten eggs, and finally I colored in parts of the image by hand with a tiny brush dipped in food coloring. Using Grok I turned my single image into a short animated video! A long creative process but Loads of fun!
