This is how we tag our dahlias. We take a picture with a number on flagging tape and then we tie it around the base of the dahlia plant. Last year we got an unexpected frost and all of the dahlias were instantly brown. We didn’t take enough pictures and couldn’t remember which ones we loved so this year we made sure to tag them early. We have 1000+ dahlia plants and don’t like all of them. Or some are just not good producers. So only the tagged ones will be stored and planted again next year.
