I am very grateful for the opportunity to raise awareness for the Adderley Street market through my work.

The Issue
โ€˜Stand with Cape Townโ€™s Historic Adderley Street Flower Sellers!
For more than 150 years, flower sellers have traded at Trafalgar Place on Adderley Street.
This vibrant flower market is one of the oldest traditions in Cape Town and an important part of the cityโ€™s cultural heritage. Families have worked here for generations, supplying flowers to residents, businesses, and visitors from around the world.
The City is now proposing a new Informal Trading Plan that would dramatically change the market by:
ย โ€ข Limiting the market to only 20 demarcated trading bays
ย โ€ข Restricting trading hours to 6:00 AM โ€“ 6:00 PM instead of the historic 24-hour trading tradition
ย โ€ข Requiring long-standing flower sellers to apply for permits subject to City approval
ย โ€ข Restructuring the historic market site without guaranteeing existing traders their place
These changes could displace traders, reduce livelihoods, and erase a tradition that has existed since the 1800s.
The Adderley Street Flower Market is not just informal trade. It is a living cultural landmark that makes Cape Town unique.โ€

โ€œSet high above the Atlantic in Bantry Bay, Ellerman House feels less like a hotel and more like a private South African home shaped by art, w**e and heritage.โ€

It was so inspiring to spend some time at the beautiful Ellerman House. The views are incredible, and the staff are so professional and friendly.
The art collection really fed my soul. Such a good reminder of why quality art will always be a worthwhile investment for any interior.
Human-made art feeds our nervous systems on a very deep level.

I love travelling and shooting in locations outside of Cape Town.
Itโ€™s always amazing to notice how differently light falls in other areas, cities, or countries.
So many factors influence the quality of light.

Sunrise and sunset are generally always beautiful, no matter where you are, and there are no times of day more famous for photography than โ€œGolden Hourโ€.

When photographing beautiful interiors like these, I aim to build as much feeling as possible into the two-dimensional frame. I find it magical that light and shapes can translate a larger experience and tell the story of a space.
I am so grateful to get to see places that many others might never experience, and I take my responsibility to show these interiors to the world through my lens seriously.

I love to manipulate daylight to create a mood - thank you to all the stylists and assistants I end up collaborating with. It takes a team!
And of course, to so many wonderful clients for the trust!
