Well as I predicted 5 days ago today was the best weather for a trip up Table Mountain. I have never seen so many people in the middle of the winter, the queue was 200m long just like in summer, but worth the wait when I got to the summit. First thing I noticed was the reappearance of the dassies. Lots of them including young. They must be breeding like...well, 'rock rabbits'. This is also the reason the verroux's eagles have returned, the same pair are sitting on eggs again as they were last year. Dassie's are their main source of food. So these are some of the pictures I took today, and they include a white necked raven, a very curious dassie checking me out, a paraglider and what I was hoping to see, people abseiling.
