I love frogs, so was delighted when I found this little chap in a pond at Kirstenbosch Gardens. He was quite happy to pose for a photograph, not being bothered at all with a lens in his face.

PHOTO OF THE WEEK
I have just spent a few days in Swellendam and the canola tapestry in The Overberg is impressive as always. I was lucky enough to visit a a canola farm which made for a good opportunity to take some photos of this magnificent field of gold.

Did you know that all canola in South Africa is non-GMO? And that it takes approximately one tonne of seeds (they are tiny) to make 40 litres of canola oil? Now you do! 🙂

Being Women's Day tomorrow, I thought I would share a personal photo that's very special to me.

My cousin has just been through cancer treatment and we all know how harrowing that is. At the same time, her horse had to have surgery on his leg, leaving a huge open wound that requires daily care. They have both been through a very rough time and are now healing together. The photo shows what an incredible bond they have and how much joy they bring to each other. Knowing that you are loved gives you the strength and courage to face anything... ❤️❤️

Taken at a game lodge in the Garden Route. Love how the egret is framed!

And how the rhino's horn is growing back - sadly to only be taken off again. It's not a comfortable sight seeing rhino without their horns and a bitter reminder of a sad reality.
