Tonight i get interviewed by my friend Mickie Menz from News 62 about my life before i ended up in Barrydale, Its a live interview at the Karoo Art Hotel,
So i have tried finding some photos that cover just some of that i have done in the last 58 year, From being a hippy photojournalist to building up the Biggest Photography Studio and photo equipment rental business in Cape Town, a 650 squire meter loft space i ran for many years as well as a second studio in another part of Cape Town that became an Advertising Agency -Fly and Friend,
My Cafe Fstop that i built up as a Art Gallery and Cafe, and my lovely Alfa Spider 1969 Roundback,My years photographing Famous people , Fashion, Advertising, and running a One Productions my production company, My years as a Marine fighting on the Angola border and my days climbing mount Kenya in a rubber Rhino costume, and lots more and my time working with street kids as a director at the My Life Charety where we Upskilled them into the film industry and to become mechanics ,singers ,chefs and soccer starts winning the Homeless World Cup in Brazil.
Well they asked for it and its been an amazing Ride !

Here are a few photos i took in the Karoolkie Keder where i host the BAPF (Analog Photo Fest) every Dec .The photos are of King James and Jan Saven as a test of what we could do during the festival using the space as a studio. We did not get to set up such BIG shoots this year during the festival but it was a fun exercise Thank You Ella and Ian for bringing King James for the shoot and to Jann for being willing to pose in the photos.

The Board and staff of Cape Town TV are deeply saddened by the passing of our long-time colleague Neil Frye🕊. Neil joined Cape Town TV as a board member in 2016, after having been involved in the station’s programming activities for some years previously.

Neil brought his energy, humour and talents to the station by providing video footage of numerous arts events in the city, as well serving on the Board. Neil represented the Peace Foundation and the Arts sector on the board of Cape Town TV, where he contributed his thoughts and insight to the responsibilities of overseeing the activities of the organisation as well as strategizing to drive the channel to new heights.

One of Neil’s finest characteristics was his passion for world peace, and one of his achievements was his participation in bringing the world-famous inspirational speaker Prem Rawat to South Africa. He also helped to make Prem’s motivational talks a regular feature on Cape Town TV. In so doing Neil furthered his aim of making the world a better and more peaceful planet, to the benefit of all humankind.

Neil was an excellent photographer and his passion for photography, the arts, music, culture and heritage led him to cover and publicise many personalities and events in these sectors both in social media and on Cape Town TV.

At this sad time let us celebrate the wonderful contributions that this intelligent, sensitive and passionate soul made to the people of Cape Town. Neil, we will miss you.
