Once again I'll be participating in the but this year will be different for me šŸ™‚

I will be riding for a charity called the . The is a social justice foundation changing society’s views on the capabilities and roles of children with disabilities in and around South Africa and the world. I visited the charity and I was amazed by not only all Chaelis achievements but also by the school they’re running and what they have to show the world šŸ‘©šŸ½ā€šŸ¦¼

Not only do they cater for disabled kids but the classes are mixed with non disabled kids too, to merely bring about inclusion. The fees raised on a monthly basis does not even cover half of the amount it takes to keep the school running. I will be riding the of 109km for the , I urge you or kindly ask to please make a donation of R109 (R1 per Kilometre) or whatever suits your pocket. Every bit helps šŸ™šŸ½

If you are able to donate please use this link https://www.givengain.com/c/chaelicampaign/ and use this code as a reference (2009+your name). I would like to kindly ask you to like and share this video with all your friends and family šŸ’Æ

Myself and was privileged to be interviewed by .munnik who is a producer for . My first interview ever, not even local but international! Kak nervous hence the squeak and scratch in my voice, sun in my eyes but the message was still seen.
26 years later we’re still faced with our ancestors battles. Like beautifully says, Cape Town is a city where people are moved around, a very specific group of people. It’s still happening!

I’m glad this is out there for the world to see that Cape Town is not just about a beautiful mountain and lekker beaches. There’s an unpolished side too, the most important side. The one that carries the real story behind this beautiful yet broken City.

ā€œAnother chance will come, when we will learn to love again. When we won’t hold on to the hope we think we have. When we will accept. Only the brave finds hope in a second chance.ā€

This is what we all know as the flower market in Adderly. I don’t really like going there because my sinus problems are ā€œmad as March hareā€ or should I say mad as September petals in this case, but the flower market is as pretty as a picture. So are the people that work there. I guess that’s why I go anyway. Everyone knows Aunty Diela. It was once so colorful, filled with all kind of blommetjies. Yes I’m making it sound dim and distant and maybe more conspicuous than what it is but what we going through right now is so real. So damn real. I took this photograph in a hast while shooting last week during lockdown. Then only really looked at it when editing. Like really looked at it. Many thoughts went through my mind. One of them was when we get second chance. A second chance to make things better, or fix it, or make it last a bit longer than before or even forever. Anyway I think what I’m getting at is when we get a second chance, if we’re lucky enough, don’t miss out on it. I do believe in second chances. However I don’t believe in any chances after that. Another thought was how much some people love flowers.

Go buy someone flowers after this is over. I know I will. Support local. My heart goes out to all the small local businesses running a lost during this time ā¤ļø Have a mooi Klein Vrydag julle.

ā€œOnly the strong surviveā€

Went to the Bhai here in the main road for a packet of spice. Yesterday he let us in his shop. Today he serves us through the bars. I’m happy that some of us is taking the necessary measures and obeying the laws of the government during this lock down period. Also happy that the government allowed our foreign owned spaza winkeltjies to stay open. Let’s face it, we all taking a knock somehow but sooner we get with the system the sooner things will go back to normal. Let’s flatten that curve! Be safe mense. @ Koeberg Road
