From our last trip to the Wolfberg Arch in the Cederberg with Tarien Apsey-Markwat. Conditions were not the greatest for this image, There was only an hour between sundown and moon up, so not my most detailed Milky Way, a little heavy on the light pollution. I Had to push the detail from the sky more than I generally like but I am quite happy with what came out in the end.

Took this during a recent trip to Hogsback. Was not there for photography but Tarien and I took the cameras anyway. Turns out the conditions where pretty good for this 39 steps waterfall. I need to credit Tarien for seeing this composition which I shamelessly stole.

As all the young influencers swamped the arch Tarien Apsey-Markwat and I decided to try our hand photographing this monstrous rock formation. Having been here before I often gravitate towards this anyway as its quite imposing and yields new compositions every time I am here. But I can say the the crowd is now quite large at the arch. Gone are the days we could go here on a weekend and have no one els overnighting with us. Its a great hike still but if you are looking to photograph the arch at golden hour just beware that there are going to be people peppering your shots.

From our recent trip to the Cederberg. Had a great time with Tarien Apsey-Markwat and friends (Gert Steyn ) destroying our overworked bodies climbing up here. Tough at times but always worth the effort.

This is a time blend I managed to capture at Beaverlac after some good rains earlier this year. I have tried a few times to capture an engaging composition at this spot and this is the first time I was really happy with the results. If you scroll through my image will see a similar one taken a year before this one. Some better planning allowed me to get a more desirable silkiness on the water.

Taken During this past December. This is Gerikes Point near Sedgefield.
In pursuit of staying more enthusiastic, I am now going to start offering online one-on-one post-processing lessons for landscapes. I am going to be running a special for the 1st five lessons. I am still working out the cost. PM me if you are interested and if you think you can benefit from learning my workflow, I don't want to officially put out information yet but am happy to share through a PM what I have so far with regards to pricing, etc.

I always appreciate some good exposure

Nothing beats driving into down with our iconic Table Mountain as a backdrop. It just never gets old, nor do you ever see the same mountain twice.

Had a spur-of-the-moment reaction to the light while out along the west coast which I don't regret. This is handheld. Something I would not normally suggest if I was running a workshop but I am always amazed at how good the technology has become because the detail in this was still pretty good at ISO 1000. I also never scouted so my composition decision had a pretty tight runway. All things I try not to teach but I was lucky this time as I thought it turned out okay. But I am sure there was a better composition out there with these conditions. Hope you enjoy

My first post in a long time. Some nice heavy flowing conditions in Beaverlac, allowing me to look at new compositions I have not taken before. This is a time blend, the FG is taken earlier than the Milkyway. I do this to avoid High ISO on the and flat starlight. I am planning a workshop here for the next rainy season. Feel free to message me for details in the interim. Thanks for viewing.
