One thing about photography is finding the “shot” is likely a 1 in 100 000 (photos). Planning helps you get in the ballpark, patience warmer, timing a little closer, but luck or the moment is rare. Probably because “the shot” is something that only speaks to you because the way you’ve anticipated or premeditated the scene yet what unfolds in front of you could be better (and missed if you’re waiting for the other moment). I’m learning the freedom of contentment whilst having strong ideas, hopes and ex*****on of photographs that move me.
This year, I’m chasing more photographic missions in search of atmospheric, emotive stillness — photographs that calm, move, and linger in the mind.
