The funeral of the late Traditional Prime Minister to the AmaZulu nation, and founder & president of the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP). On Saturday, mourners wearing IFP t-shirt and Zulu traditional attire streamed into Prince Mangosuthu Regional Stadium in Ulundi to bid a farewell.
Chief Mangosuthu Buthelezi was a son of Princess Magogo Constance Zulu kaDinizulu, King Solomon’s sister, and Inkosi Mathole Buthelezi.
This category 1 funeral was attended by the president, Cyril Ramaphosa and former presidents Thabo Mbeki, Kgalema Motlanthe and Jacob Zuma. Other dignitaries included Economic Freedom Fighter leader Julius Malema, Bantu Holomisa ( United Democratic Movement), Patrice Motsepe, Bheki Cele, Chief Justice Raymond Zondo (Chief Justice of the Republic of South Africa), Olusegun Obasanjo ( former President of Nigeria) and many other prominent African leaders and politician.
