I met sweetest Micaela and Matthew recently, to capture some portraits for them at their wedding venue.

It had unfortunately rained on their special day and despite them having loved their wedding, they did still want to take some pictures together, in their wedding clothes, with the backdrop that made them choose Cavalli as the scene for their celebration.

What a joy to be able to be a part of this shoot and to capture wedding-style images for these beautiful humans, without the normal wedding day pressure of time constraints! They had a wintery summer wedding, but this couple shoot repaid them with a summers day in winter. Micaela and Matthew, you're the kind of people I love to be around, and the ones who make work feel like an evening out with friends. Thank you for your beautiful energy and easy laughter, you guys are an absolute treat!!!

In the madness of wedding seasons and editing seasons and summers and all the busy, posting here is probably my most neglected task.

I'm sometimes shocked to see how much I haven't shared on Instagram. Weddings and couples whose photos I adore, the work of other vendors who made the aesthetics spectacular. Every now and then I try to remedy that (today is one of those days), but it probably won't last when the season gains momentum, so let's enjoy it for what it is and delight in some of these moments from Megan and Jays exceptional, love-filled celebration. Looking back at these has made my morning and I hope it will yours too!

A softly-sunshiney family shoot with the Davel and Nienaber family ahead of some big moments they're sharing! I absolutely adore sessions like this in between weddings, where everything is unscripted and in flow with the magnificent energy that comes with children's portraits 🥰

Summer days are so very nearly here again, and these memories from Avikal and Rae's portrait session remind me of exactly how that feels.

Looking back, and I can't believe this was already 𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘵 summer, I'm as warmed by these images as I am by the thought of being out on the beaches of Cape Town in the sunshine again.

Of course, this couple shoot and these pictures and moments with you two, Rae and Avi, will always be some of my favourites :)

Finishing off some edits for the eternally lovable Johns' family this afternoon and just HAD to share a handful of the moments from this beautiful, wintery family shoot while they were visiting the Cape again this year ✨

When I went into photography I never thought about what continuity with clients would look like and how special it would be to see people and families grow. Now I can't stop thinking about how lucky I am to have met people like Ashton and Dave and their family ... first at their engagement, then wedding and now, for a second family shoot with their sweet kids. The joy of knowing people like this brings so much light into my life and they're making me smile as I look at them this afternoon (as they've made me smile over many years at this point). Happy Sunday everyone!

I love seeing guests and partners' faces when a bride enters the wedding reception in a second look dress. The flash shoots for these outfits are always something I look forward to on a wedding day!

Somehow it's winter in the Cape again and these blue-sky memories that still feel so recent are already a few months back. The good thing about this is that without the inevitable rush of being mid-summer, I now have a little more time to share wonderful, sunshiney memories like this!

To call this day, Cameron & Caylee's engagement, memorable would be an understatement - it was more like a massive, glittering punctuation mark that has seeped into the happiness of our being. These laughs, these shots, these people are now eternal to me. This ... this is the magic of this career and of the people I'm so very lucky to have as clients.

Some couples choose a first look. Jess and Colm chose a first touch, and used that time to share their private vows with one another before their ceremony began. No audience, no rush, just the two of them (and us at a respectful distance), holding on and being completely present with one another. I'd never seen this done before, but it's now probably the best thing I think a couple could do for themselves and their connection on a big, busy, wonderful-but-often-busy wedding day.

If this is something you've been thinking about, from someone who's seen an abundance of "reveals" and first looks, go for it. There were more wonderful moments on their wedding day than I can count, but this was by far my favourite!
