Right time. Right place 🐾

A rare African wild dog sighting in the Kruger National Park! We first found two wild dogs calling from the road as they tried to locate the rest of their pack. Later, further down the road, we were lucky enough to find the others.

Our experienced safari guides use tracking skills, animal behaviour and keen observation to help find incredible wildlife. But in the Kruger, there’s always an element of luck. Sometimes it simply comes down to being in the right place when wildlife crosses your path.

That’s the magic of a Kruger safari 🌿

A powerful sighting in the wild 🦅

The Martial Eagle is Africa’s largest eagle and one of the continent’s most impressive raptors. With incredible eyesight and a wingspan that can reach over 2.5 metres, spotting one in the wild is always a special moment.

And if you’re a birder, our safaris can be tailored to you. 🐦 Whether you’re looking for a specific species, chasing your next lifer, or simply want more time to stop and appreciate the birds along the way, our highly qualified guides know where to look.

For serious birders, book a private safari vehicle dedicated entirely to birding - giving you the freedom to slow down, explore and focus on those hard-to-find sightings.

The next lifer could be just around the corner. 🌿

You can hear it in their voices... pure excitement. 🦏🤍

Seeing a white rhino with her calf in Kruger National Park is one of those moments that stays with you forever. It’s a powerful reminder that, despite the challenges these incredible animals face, there is still hope for the future.

Rhino numbers have been devastated by poaching over the years, making every sighting even more meaningful. Watching a mother carefully protect and guide her calf is not just a privilege - it’s a reminder of why conservation matters.

These are the moments that make a safari so much more than a wildlife checklist. They connect us to the wild and inspire us to protect it.

Join On Safari Africa for a Kruger National Park safari and experience unforgettable wildlife encounters while supporting the appreciation and conservation of one of Africa’s most iconic species.

Not every safari highlight has to roar. 🐾

Meet the dwarf mongoose – Africa’s smallest carnivore, but one of the bush’s busiest characters. These tiny mammals live in close-knit family groups where some members stand guard while others forage, working together to keep everyone safe. They even team up with hornbills, which warn them of danger from above while enjoying insects the mongooses flush out.

A safari isn’t just about ticking off the Big Five. Sometimes it’s these small, fascinating moments that tell the greatest stories.

What’s your favourite “little” sighting in the bush? 👇

A safari is about so much more than what you see - it’s about what you learn. 🦏🌿

Every wildlife sighting has a story, and that’s where having a qualified, knowledgeable safari guide makes all the difference.

Here, Sabelo is sharing the remarkable bond between a white rhino cow and her calf, explaining their behaviour, their communication, and why protecting these animals is so important. It’s these moments that transform a game drive into an unforgettable safari experience.

While a self-drive may get you from A to B, you’ll often miss the fascinating stories, behaviours, and conservation insights happening right in front of you.

There’s no better place to experience this than Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Game Reserve - the oldest proclaimed game reserve in Africa and the birthplace of modern rhino conservation. Every drive is an opportunity to connect with the wildlife on a deeper level.

Book your Hluhluwe-iMfolozi safari with On Safari Africa today and let our expert guides bring the bush to life.

Sometimes the most exciting safari sightings are the ones you least expect 🌿🐖

While out on safari in Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Game Reserve, we were lucky enough to spot one of Africa’s most elusive residents - a bushpig!

Unlike warthogs, bushpigs are mostly nocturnal and incredibly shy, making daytime sightings a real treat. They spend much of their time hidden in dense vegetation, emerging to forage for roots, fruit, bulbs, insects, and other natural food sources under the cover of darkness.

Moments like these are what make every safari unique. You never know what you’ll discover next.

Join On Safari Africa and experience the real, raw Africa with expert local guides who know exactly where to look for the reserve’s most fascinating wildlife.

Who says a safari has to happen on four wheels? 🚤🦛

Swap the game drive for a boat and discover one of South Africa’s most unique wildlife experiences on the St Lucia Estuary, nestled within the iSimangaliso Wetland Park UNESCO World Heritage Site.

This is a safari on the water, where you’ll cruise alongside one of Africa’s largest populations of hippos, spot enormous Nile crocodiles basking on the banks, and keep an eye out for fish eagles, kingfishers, herons, and countless other bird species.

With every bend in the estuary bringing a new surprise, it’s the perfect way to experience the wild from a completely different perspective.

Join On Safari Africa on a St Lucia Estuary Boat Cruise and discover why this is one of KwaZulu-Natal’s must-do wildlife experiences.

Book your boat cruise today - your next safari starts on the water.
