Designing spaces has always been a deep love of mine.
But somewhere along the way… that love grew into something more — a real passion for furniture and how it shapes the soul of a space.

That passion took root during our travels through Bali.
We’d walk the streets, sit in beautiful cafés, explore tiny furniture stores — and I found myself deeply inspired by the craftsmanship, the textures, the care that goes into every piece.
In Bali, design isn’t an afterthought — it’s everything.

And so the dream began:
✨ Bring Bali Home ✨
To share the pieces that moved me with fellow South Africans who value beauty, intentionality, and soul in their homes.

Today I’m so excited to say —
I’m now offering a curated range of handmade Balinese furniture at wholesale prices
to the South African market 🇿🇦

This is your chance to access unique, artisanal pieces — not mass-produced furniture — that carry the warmth, story and spirit of Bali.

If you’d like to see the catalogue and order form,
📩 Send me your email address
and I’ll send you everything you need to place a pre-order.

Let’s bring a little piece of Bali home 🌾

Bali — a place where a dream was born.
A place where I fell deeply in love with the textures, the handmade pieces, and the calm.
And now, we’re finally importing our very first Bali container.
Bring Bali Home is actually happening!!

After watching the news lately, I’ve become even more grateful for my tribe—my family. I want to pull them in closer, hold them tighter, and treasure every moment a little longer.

The world can be an evil place, but I’m more determined than ever to be a light for Jesus.

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden… let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” — Matthew 5:14,16 ✨

I don’t often share my political views. Every now and then they may slip through, but this space is mostly where I share glimpses of my kids, my family, and the happy, crazy life we get to live together.

Over the past few days, I’m sure many of you have seen the devastating news. Shootings, stabbings of innocent lives… and then the assassination of Charlie Kirk. Why? Simply because someone disagreed with his beliefs. Because someone thought silencing freedom of speech was more important than allowing space for dialogue. An innocent man—a husband, a father of two, a son—was murdered.

Charlie was a man who deeply loved Jesus. He believed in revival. He valued healthy debate, creating space for conversations without judgment, where every person’s voice mattered and was treated with respect.

I am heartbroken by the loss of such an incredible man. I am heartbroken by the state of this world, where some believe it is acceptable to kill simply because they do not like what is being said. This is not a battle of left versus right. This is a battle of evil versus heaven.

My heart aches especially for Charlie’s young wife, now widowed, left to raise two small children on her own.

In all this chaos, horror, and injustice, my only hope is Jesus—our Lord and Saviour. I pray He will use even this tragedy for His glory. I pray that through this, people’s eyes will be opened. That what Charlie began will only grow louder, stronger, and bolder. Because the name of Jesus cannot be silenced.

I believe in Jesus. I believe He is good—even in the midst of this.

Chapters have a beginning and an end. When one journey closes, another is always waiting to begin.

As our time with our beautiful team and restaurant, Village, came to an end, a new adventure was already taking shape — the opening of our second store in the new Westown Mall.

Designing this space has been such a joy. With its Japandi-inspired look — clean lines, gentle curves, soft green tones, handmade tiles, and natural textures — it’s a space that feels calm, considered, and connected to nature.

With each project I’ve had the privilege to design, I’ve discovered new skills, experimented with fresh textures and elements, and found my style evolving. I feel my work is growing, maturing, and becoming more defined — yet always open to learning and exploring more.

This space is more than just a café; it’s a reflection of my love for creating places that people can truly connect with. I’ve loved every moment of building it, and I’m so excited for what’s to come.

In 2020, due to the vid, we lost two coffee shops in Umhlanga.
But through the discouragement, one of our greatest adventures was born.

Together with our dear friends and business partners, , we began the wild journey of opening a restaurant. Inspired by the isolation and lack of connection the pandemic brought, we set out to create a space where families and friends could gather, share good food, and let their children play freely outdoors.

And so, Village — or as many of you knew it, Village in Yard41 — was born.

The past four and a half years have been nothing short of crazy. We’ve had our fair share of ups and downs, celebrated and cried within those walls, watched dreams come to life, made new friends, shared moments with old ones, and grew from two kids between our families to five. We also saw an incredible team come together — the dream team — who made Village what it was.

We always knew Village wasn’t forever. It was a stepping stone toward something greater. So, when we felt the season was coming to an end in November 2024, we knew it was the right time to place Village on the market.

In January, we were approached by Leana and Marius from , and about three months ago, they officially became the new owners of Village — now FortyOne.

While it’s bittersweet to say goodbye to our season at Village — the hours spent curating the space, designing the menu, and most importantly, building a team that held the place together like glue — we couldn’t have handed it over to better people.

With Village behind us, we’ve been able to pour our hearts into new adventures — growing and refining what we started, and leaning into our original dream:

Coffee. Design. And spreading the Gospel.
