Angela Riley Photography Wildlife and Pet photographer Hi there, I'm Angela. I'm a Wildlife Photographer and Field Guide.

For me, photography is about capturing fleeting moments in time that can never be replicated exactly the same way again. I find that the most compelling moments in nature are often the quieter ones.

It had been a while since spending a good amount of time in Kruger National Park with the family, and this trip was a great reminder of why I love it so much!

During the week-long holiday, dad and I headed out at the crack of dawn on one of the mornings and left my mom and brother to follow in the second car. (Perks of 2 cars). With no expectations for the morning we happily bumbled along until we turned onto a road where there seemed to be a stream of game vehicles passing us. It got us wondering what was going on and after a quick chat with one of the guides, we found out that two male lions were lying not far ahead.

Naturally, we were anxious for the rest of the family to see them too but our trusty little walkie-talkies proved to be as useful as talking through a banana at that point. But thankfully we had cell signal where the lions were and managed to message them. Luckily they were close by and got to see one of males sitting out in the open, quite close to the road. He soon got up and followed his brother into the bush.

Anyway. Thereโ€™s nothing quite like getting to share these moments with your family. Everyone was buzzing with excitement and loved it. And the soft morning light and slight haze made for some beautiful photo opportunities of these boys.
