A couple of images from our recent Steam Sundowner Photographic Experience at New Cape Central Railway – Wonder Steam in Pretoria.
Despite the overcast conditions, the weather created a wonderfully moody atmosphere, reminiscent of the South African Railways (SAR) era. Following a series of run-pasts and staged scenes, participants were treated to a night photography session, where the true magic of steam came to life.
Our sincere thanks to everyone who joined us, and a special thank you to the team at NCCR Wonder Steam for making the event possible. We'd also like to extend our gratitude to the locomotive crews – Ore van den Bergh, Philip Snyman, Les and Gordon Weideman – along with all the volunteers and staff involved in the operation. A special mention must also go to our SAR reenactor, Nathan Berelowitz, whose efforts helped bring the experience to life.
We are grateful to everyone who contributed to making the evening such a memorable success.
