In 2023 at Pavillion mall in Durban, I found myself wearing a different hat — working as a safety officer. Part of my role was to document production for internal reporting, but as a lifestyle and fashion photographer, I saw an opportunity to do more.

I didn’t just want to show the “what” I wanted to capture the “how” and “why.” The resilience in their posture, the stories etched into each moment of labor, the unspoken pride in a job done with precision these are not just images, they’re lived experiences.

This series challenged me to merge my visual storytelling with the reality of hard, honest work. It's not just about compliance or documentation it’s a visual archive of dedication, effort, and the dignity of workers often overlooked.

Last month I had the honour of documenting Queering the Streets at FLAMES Studios, nestled within the historic Constitutional Hill.

This wasn’t just an event — it was a raw, moving dialogue about what it means to be q***r in the art world. The artists who shared their stories spoke not only of their creative journeys but of visibility, identity, and the right to exist fully and freely — as humans, as creatives, as voices that matter.

From powerful performances to heartfelt conversations about the future, what I walked away with was clear: the need to be seen, not as “other,” but as equal — valid, complex, whole.

Grateful to have witnessed and captured these moments through my lens.

I recently had the opportunity to shoot my first corporate assignment at Gordon Institute, documenting a special graduation ceremony. It was an incredible experience to witness and capture such a significant moment—one that marks years of dedication and hard work.

Photography isn’t just about taking pictures—it’s about preserving moments in time. Seeing graduates light up as they received proof of their achievements was a reminder of how powerful these milestones are. Each frame tells a story of perseverance, success, and new beginnings.

Grateful for the chance to be part of this celebration and to document memories that will last a lifetime. Here’s to many more moments worth capturing!

I had a fantastic time at SAFW 24 capturing the essence of the opening party. It was inspiring to see personalities shine through the diverse outfits. As a fashion photographer, there's nothing more rejuvenating than collaborating with various creatives and embracing the unpredictability of the creative process.
