𝗗𝗜𝗗 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗞𝗡𝗢𝗪...?
The legendary Shure SM58, the microphone you've seen on nearly every stage, in every genre, for decades... almost never made it past its first few years.

Introduced in 1966, the SM58 was originally built for broadcast studios, not live performance. But early sales were so slow (just 145 units sold in its first year!) that Shure nearly discontinued it entirely.

Then, in a last-ditch effort, a Shure sales manager took the mics to Las Vegas and put them in the hands of live performers. The rest, as they say, is history. The SM58 went on to become the most recognized and trusted vocal microphone in the world, still going strong nearly 60 years later.

Sometimes the most iconic gear has the most unexpected origin story. 🎶

See what we did there...? 😜 For those who don't know what on earth this thing is... Spring reverb dates back to the 1930s, when Hammond Organ engineers found that sending audio through a suspended metal spring created a natural, wobbly echo.

By the late '50s and '60s, Fender built it into their amps - giving surf rock and rockabilly that iconic shimmering sound still used today.

ANYWAY... May the new season be FULL of joy, excitement and great memories!
