Euphoric Picturesque "The world through our lens" The device in our hands has once again captured a moment in time – one of many that have been, and many more to come.

We gently press down on the button, keeping our finger in place as we listen to the mechanical twists and turns and wait for the beep. Once we hear the familiar sound, we press down once again and hear the quick snap of the shutter, and within seconds we are looking at a photograph. We believe photography – like many other things one does in life – is the exact expression of who one is at a given

moment: every time you compose and release the shutter you give voice to your thoughts and opinions of the world around you. This will translate into a deeper more complex understanding of the world around you, and ultimately into a richer and more meaningful photography. Photography started out as a hobby for us, then became a means of escape and comfort and now it acts as a means to show how we perceive the world around us. Slowly but surely it has evolved into a staple of who we are. To most, a photograph is an image on a piece of paper or on a computer, but to us it means so much more. It is a means of capturing emotion – happiness, worry, excitement, or anger. It is a way to stop time, or as they say in Latin, ‘carpe diem’ – once the moment has been captured, it remains there forever. It is a means of change – spreading awareness and information by capturing what others cannot see. And it makes us proud to say we can do all of the above with the simple push of a button. We photograph because we love doing it, because we absolutely have to do it, because the chief reward is going to be the process of doing it. Other rewards — recognition, financial remuneration — come to so few and are so fleeting. We take photography on as a passion, not a career.
