Today NMMU students stood in solidarity with the rest of the country's students. In a peaceful demonstration, students voiced their opinions on the increase of university fees and it's effect of financially excluding poor students.

Students from all walks of life stood together and was united under the national theme of "fees must fall". The highlight of today's demonstration was the police brutality experienced across the country.

Students at NMMU were fired at with stunt grenades and rubber bullets. The demonstrations still continue and students will not retreat until the increase in fees nationwide are lifted.
