A few of my favourite sequences from my film, Ba Jara Thaba (They Carry The Mountain).

Thank you for all the love and support so far! The full film is on Vimeo - you can find it on my website (link in bio) I highly recommend watching this on a big screen with decent audio.

Some recent work for the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon.

Projects like this sit in the sweet spot between commercial and documentary filmmaking. While I’m always eager to dive into high-concept, traditional commercial briefs, there’s a unique reward in telling humancentric stories like this one. I love the process of finding the narrative, connecting with the humans involved, and building that trust. More often than not, I leave these projects with lifelong friends.

Sihle, Gloria, and Nomonde, it was such a pleasure telling your stories.

Huge thanks to the crew. We moved fast and managed to capture 3 portrait films and a hero film in 2 days of shooting. (With a few solo pickups here and there)

In the rugged highlands of Lesotho, where the Maletsunyane Falls mist meets the sky, the Basotho people and their horses share a single breath. Ba Jara Thaba is a poetic immersion into a world where the horse is not just a tool for survival, but a vessel for heritage, speed, and the soul of the mountain.

Deep within the “Place of Smoke,” the remote village of Semongkong, a centuries old bond remains unbroken. For the Sesotho people, the horse is the primary engine of life navigating treacherous terrain where no wheel can turn.

Filmed over two years, this 2minute cinematic meditation intercuts intimate portraits of highland life with the raw, thundering energy of informal horse racing. Through a haunting Sesotho narration and a rich, atmospheric score, Ba Jara Thaba captures the spirit of the “Mountain Kingdom” and the resilient riders who carry its legacy.

For NYE I traded beers and partying for wheels and smoke, spending the night shooting an ongoing passion project. I can’t wait to share more about it, but first I need to wrap up the Lesotho film. I’m excited for 2026 and for making more time for projects that truly bring joy to me, like last evening.

I’m forever grateful for the people, places, and experiences that film has brought into my life.
