There is an air of expectation for me when I'm on my way to photograph a wedding at Kopbeenskloof. I didn't know that Dean and Ashley's wedding would be my last there, though. The weather at Kopbeenskloof can be unpredictable, and I've pretty much seen it all – cold, rain, heat, wind, and everything in between. Dean and Ashley's wedding experienced some harsh cold and wet conditions, but the warmth of the wedding party contrasted it perfectly. These pictures were taken in some really difficult conditions. Kopbeenskloof never disappoints; one just has to be willing to accept what it has to offer!

Please take a moment to appreciate the conditions some of these pictures were taken under! Thank you Dean and Ashley for sticking with it despite the wind, rain and cold (6 degrees)! Another amazing (and last) wedding at Kopbeenskloof with amazing people, food and fellowship. May the wind be at your backs from now on, Dean and Ash!

Lockdown moonrise (from my back yard), 7.05.2020, 18h49. Canon 6d MkII, 70-200 F2.8 IS III, ISO 1600. Two image HDR. While not a perfect image by any means (noise), I like it. It's eerie, much like our emotional state during this imposed lockdown, but calming at the same time.

Set in the idyllic valley of Franschoek, Rickety Bridge was the venue for James and Lisa's wedding, a scenic backdrop to the unification of two beautiful people. The Franschoek Dutch Reformed Church (built in 1847), chosen for the ceremony, never disappoints due to its fabulous architecture and spacious interior. Bon voyage James and Lisa, may fortune ever be in your favour.
