Photography can make you rich one minute and broke the next. It’s a profession that takes so much from you and also gives so much back. You can get a job today for 500k or even 1M, but that same money can disappear tomorrow on a new lens, a new camera, or repairing gear that just faulted. Electronics don’t give warning. That’s why the life of a photographer is complex. The happiness is temporary, but if you truly have joy for what you do, you’ll keep going.
If photography is your major source of income, treat it like a real business. Set structures, set standards, plan your money. If you have another source of income, you’ll enjoy photography more because this craft is expensive. So if you have a photographer friend, support them. Encourage them. If they ask for help and you can, help. What you see on the outside is beautiful pictures, but behind it is sacrifice, risk, and constant investment.
