Even before I retired from my Optometric practice in the charming town of Uitenhage here in the Eastern Cape, I began photographing and recording many of the various art exhibitions I came across both in the Western and Eastern Cape, South Africa

by using my page ‘Basil Brady Art Event Photographer’ as an ideal medium. My intention at first was simply the promotion of our many talented (but often sadly unappreciated and unrecognized) fine artists here in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape. But as time passed I soon found myself not only doing just that, but also the promoting of talented artists in the beautiful city of Cape Town,Western Cape. So now for approximately the last 20 years I have voluntarily and happily occupied my free time attending many art exhibitions, photographing the works on display and of course some of the art lovers attending, and yes often working late into the night, finally getting these images posted on my page, thereby promoting these events, getting more feet through the gallery doors and hopefully more artworks sold... hence simply raising more awareness around our remarkably talented (and often unappreciated) and worthy South African artists. This is not a business I run, what I do is simply by using my camera combined with my page, hopefully to assist and raise more awareness around many of our wonderfully talented South African artists. Please note that I am a photographer first and foremost, specializing in promoting South African fine artists together with their various art exhibitions, and not a dealer in artworks... neither seller nor buyer!
