Male kudus have the longest horns of any antelope on the planet, reaching almost 6 ft long when measured along the curve. They're also amazing jumpers, and can easily clear a 2m fence running at speed!

A very distant elephant catching the last of the sun's rays 🌄

Elephant trunks are made up of no bones but 17 different muscles in up to 150,000 units! They use their trunks to hold water (up to 8 litres at a time) before squirting it into their mouths, and as a tool for communication between mothers and calves. Mothers will touch their calves' mouths with their trunk to reassure them, and calves will do the same to request food 🥹

As per my last post, here is the winner!! I must admit, when we stumbled across this sighting I wasn't quite sure where to look 😂🙈 but how incredible to see a threatened population on it's way to increasing 🥹

White rhino populations in South Africa are currently on the rise thanks to protection measures that have been put in place over the past few decades, however poaching has also increased again in recent years, so to see a group thriving like this was a particularly beautiful moment.

These two rhino kept testing each other... taking little marches forward, lowering their heads, checking out the other's...

These two rhino kept testing each other... taking little marches forward, lowering their heads, checking out the other's horns ... we watched for a while to if see one would properly challenge the other and battle breakout, but eventually let them be.

When we returned about half an hour later, we found out exactly what they were fighting over... Answer in my next post 🙈
