🎥 ONE CAMERA FEATURE I WISH I LEARNED SOONER: FOCUS PEAKING
I’ve been shooting more and more with manual focus on my mirrorless camera, and one thing I recently learned properly was Focus Peaking.
And honestly… where has this been all my life? 😂
When you’re pulling focus manually, getting your subject sharp can sometimes mean constantly checking the screen or — even worse — squinting your eyes trying to figure out if you nailed focus. 👀😂
Focus Peaking makes it MUCH easier.
🔴 What does it do?
It highlights the areas of your image that are currently in focus, giving you a visual guide while manually focusing.
That means when I’m pulling focus, I can see exactly where my focus is landing instead of relying completely on my eyes.
🎯 Why I’m loving it:
• Easier manual focusing
• Faster focus adjustments
• More confidence when pulling focus
• Less squinting at the screen 😂
• Especially useful when shooting video
Still learning. Still experimenting. Still getting better.
And that’s one thing I love about filmmaking — there’s always another feature, technique or little trick that levels up your work.
