~ The boss ~

People say that old Cape Buffalo bulls always seem to give you that look – the one that looks like you owe them money. This big boy was found enjoying a mud bath and our presence brought out ‘that’ look; even his reflection in the water was intimidating.

~ Lunar lair ~

Exploring Letaba Rest Camp at night with a UV flashlight yields amazing sightings of glowing scorpions in the Mopani trees. We were lucky enough to find this individual in a hollowed-out log and wanted to showcase the beautiful full moon in the image. A bit of creative positioning of the camera using a gimbal and tripod allowed us to get an interesting perspective on this incredible creature.

~ A dog’s life ~

Looking at the calm demeanour of this African Wild Dog and his pack, one would find it difficult to believe that this species is one of Africa’s most successful predators. It is always so special to encounter these stunning mammals.

~ Rainbow infinity ~

Veronique photographed this Madagascar Tree Boa in the Lokobe Strict Reserve, a wonderful location on Nosy Be island in northern Madagascar. We loved the infinity sign created by the snake’s winding body, as well as the rainbow sheen given off by iridophores in the scales.

A Sea Whip plays host to a variety of creatures and it is always worth a thorough inspection when on a dive. One such creature is the Zanzibar Whip Coral Shrimp which blends in perfectly amongst the coral’s polyps.
